Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Won't hurt, the Racing 3 wheels are already 11 speed compadable. I think the white hubs would look good with that frame too.

Thanks @seymour1910

I just picked up the frame and it looks better in person. I can't wait to start building it up!

I think once you make your final decision for the build, you should start a build thread. People (including me) love build threads.

Congrats on the new (to you) bike man. Look forward to seeing it progress.

I would trim the bike in white like the stock bike pictured. Cables, bar tape, and saddle. The hubs can be silver or white. Silver rims. Black is a bit too harsh for the frame colors IMO.

I don't like white bar tape. Here is a picture of someone that used black saddle/bar tape:

Nah, I'm with Robert on this – White cables, saddle & tape.

Classic Bianchi.

Plus, it'll look fantastic with the white Fulrcum R3 hubs & rim decals.

Good lord no.

That's waaaaay too busy and those old Fulcrum wheel decals are hideous.

It would look like this:

But with these:

You can use your 11 speed wheels across bikes too. I like white accents on bikes.

Looks like a great frame. I hope you don't mind my throwing my $.02 in but when I did my Kuota build, I used this Colnago cockpit for inspiration. I think the white bars and stem on your bike would look fantastic with other white components but recommend celeste for your tape. It is a classic choice and adds subtle contrast to the front of the bike.

Thanks! I appreciate the input. What about the hoods? black?

There is plenty of Celeste on the frame which, BTW, is where the color originated on Bianchi bikes. More of it is not needed on the bars.

Actually, the celeste with white bars will echo the celeste and white in the frame. It is entirely appropriate. Tastes do differ.

Edited to add. Celeste should match, tape to frame/fork, but if it doesn't it can be worse than going with a different color altogether.

I vote black or white with the tape. Celeste tape never matches the frame right and looks terrible dirty.

White hoods. (Keep them clean. Don't complain, you bought the light colored bike. Do you want to clean white tape?)

I agree! I've seen a bunch of Bianchi bikes online lately and the celeste tape on a celeste frame is not easy to pull off.

I think i'm just going to go with white tape/saddle. Then, black hoods/stem/seatpost.

I'll post a build thread once i order the parts. For now my frame does not look bad on top of my mantel.

From a decorating theory point of view the Celeste, white and black combo makes a lot of sense. It is common to see stark white and black together with nothing pulling them together. It really helps for the mandatory third color in a decorating scheme to split the difference between the two extreme colors and segue between them. With white and black accents on the bike, the Celeste is just about perfectly toned to accomplish that role.

And one with black tape/saddle:

Finally, white tape/saddle:
