Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

ninjaman, the Open Corsa's were knuckle busters. In fact, I was surprised I didnt pierce a tube putting them on. All is well though, so far.

I honestly don't know what the frame itself weighs. The way I had it built originally, with the Corima threaded fork with cro-mo steerer and non-skeletonized Record brakes, it weighed 17lbs all up. At the moment, It's about 16, but I haven't taken it to be weighed accurately yet, nor have I made any heroic attempts at making it light..

The frame I think was first produced in about 1991, and is carbon over structural foam. It's light, but not by today's standards. The revised UCI rules regarding maximum curvature of individual frame elements (fitting inside rectangles and such) effectively killed this design from the spotlight. It rides like a dream. They kept the basic design for the track version, the Cougar. Track frames can be a bit more creative than road, I guess, as their current frame mimics the original design. I think the last Puma was produced in 1999 or 2000, although details are quite sketchy and it's a rare frame by any standard - always was, especially in North America. The bladed Corima seatpost I had to have sent from Greece. It's also a very difficult item to find.

The paint I have on it was custom done (and beautifully so) just a few weeks ago by Noah, who runs Velocolour here in Toronto. In fact, this frame can be seen in his Gallery section online.

That Look is probably the nicest bike I've seen! The only thing that would make it the ultimate bike though would be the new campy record brifters with the stiffer springs and '10 Ultra' written in red

Stunning mate!

They are valve extenders. The rear does not have one because the original tube on the tire was replaced with a new one and it had a slightly longer valve length making it unnecessary. They are tubulars by the way as if it was not obvious enough.

My New Ridley Excalibur

Here is my new Ridley Excalibur from Competitive Cyclist. My bike was stolen about a month and a half ago and then this deal popped up about a week later. Fate. They "upgraded" me from the 07 to the 08 frame (same frame different colors) and I couldn't be happier.
Stats:
Full Rival Group
Fulcrum 7 Wheels
Ritchey Comp Bars/Stem/Seatpost
Specialized Toupe Gel Saddle

Nice Min... isn't that stem the best? I love mine. I always feel like the rest of the bike has to flow perfectly with it or something needs to change when I see one. It always reminds me of that commercial where the lady tells some big shot architect to design a house around her Kohler faucet.
