Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Apparently the Planet X Sportive Ti are built by Lynskeys. Not bad.

I'm very excited about it and it's been treating me amazingly. I lucked out on getting the frame for free. It's an 80s schwinn prologue made in japan.

[IMG]https://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a43/Fishey342/n42006724_30889607_170.jpg[/MG]

It's a late 80s (88ish?) prologue (more info would be great!) When i got the frame i got most of the Shimano 600 components as well. The best part is the 80s mavic rim laced dt swiss to the 600 hub and freewheel. I replaced the worn down 600 deraileur with a lightly used dura ace and the chain rings are newer shimano as well. the bars are salsa, levers are 600, stem is nitto, seat post/saddle is thomson/fizik airione (from my track bike) and the front wheel is some ****ty stock wheel from a friends mercier kilo tt. Basically, there are some upgrades in the future that i'll make, but it rides great as is.

But yes, please, any more info on this era of schwinn [and the prologues specifically] would be amazing because i'm very curious.

Thoughts?
Cool looking bike, if you ask around in classic and vintage they'll be able to get the info you want. "vintage" in that forum is basically early 90's and older FYI.

You are correct - Dura Ace and FSA Gossamer.

Cost £1776

Weighs in at 16lbs.

The wheels are Planet X model C's - when I went to collect the bike - the handbuilt ones I ordered were not ready. So far these have stayed in true.

The bike is the XXL sized frame.

Yeah, Lynskey have sent a few frames to Planet X now. They do a more road orientated bike (Pro Road Titanium). They have also designed a hardtail for the sister company (On One) - this is called the TI 456. It's been getting rave reviews.

hey guys i have a Schwinn Le Tour III with stock wheels, and original tires, 27 x 1 1/4... i would like to get thinner tires, (27 x 1 1/8) will it be possible to put them on the existing wheels, or will it require new wheels. thanks, as you can tell i'm new at this.

Here's my new ride, built on a Surly Pacer. It's equipped with Ultegra SL and Krysirium Equipe Wheels and built to ride. Bars have to be turned up and I'm not sure I love the cork bar tape as much as I thought I would.
