Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New pedals, ditch the triple, cut the steerer and get bars that have a better shape.

Wow! I use to own that original frame (but stock). It's interesting to see what can be done with it.

Yeah I picked this bike up for less than 400 completely stock and only about 50 miles on it. With weight, wheels, components, it rates right up there with some brand new 2k dollar bikes! It turned out very nicely I must say. It's at least one hell of a backup bike.

But it's no Ravenmore's E5. That thing is uber clean.

Thanks!

I'm aware of the pedals and steerer tube, but can't do much about the triple crankset at the moment. What better-shaped bars are you talking about though?

It's nit-picking at that point, but I just don't personally care for the wavy hooks/drops. Aesthetically anyway, I like a smoother shape.

It has potential, but no chance of being hot with the stem pointing towards the heavens like that.

Ok so be easy, but what do you guys think about the colored tires and should I keep one color or the other? I just picked up these wheels so i have not changed the cassette over yet.Any other opinions would be helpful as well. I would like to change the seat to black also. Thanks
