After I'm completely healed, I take satisfaction in knowing I got something out of my health insurance. After I meet my maximum out of pocket, I try to think of anything I can take care of for the rest of the year to maximize my return on investment.

Bad head cold. 23ºF and windy. Off the bike for most of 5 months and 3 operations. Time to ride.
And ride I did, 18 miles on a day where I was freezing my Pcad ass because no matter which way you rode it felt like you had the wind blowing on you. But I actually made it back up Mt. Doom and my two major medical issues (which appear to be largely resolved) did not hinder me on the bike. Still have some pain from that foot wound, but it LOOKS a whole lot better and I think it's healing. Cycling should help with the circulation in that leg. Bionic knee feels great.

A customer bought the box of Legos that comes with just over 100 pieces and, because the register told me to, I asked if she wanted the 2-year replacement plan for an additional $3. She said "Does it include pieces that get eaten by the dog?" I did some asking around and you know what? It actually does. Which sounds like a good deal to me.

One of my goals is to be working a year from now in a place where people are less unhappy on a regular basis. I have even considered trying to transfer to a different location- at which the suckage is legendary among customers and staff- to see if I could improve the conditions. But how much of that is endemic to the culture of the company and how much is learned apathy on the part of individual employees?

I was up way past midnight and this morning I had prime rib for breakfast/brunch. (Everyone else at the table had a vegetarian omelette.) In other news, Lester is an inveterate poacher. I don't mind sharing but at least give me a chance to offer you some first. Which is what I was about to do when he reached across the table and speared a bite.
We also visited a newly relocated comic book shop. In addition to completely lacking gaming supplies, they had a place for everything and everything was in its place. There was nobody loitering and there was a tres sophisticated jazz arrangement of "Little Brown Jug" coming out the speakers. My kid described it as looking like it had been cleaned up and made appropriate and acceptable in anticipation of a visit from parents. They did just just reopen in this location so maybe they'll become messier and friendlier as they develop history in the new place.

Nyquil and bicycle dreams tonight. I will try to be out there daily going forward. Man my life sucks without cycling. Percoset is fun for like a long weekend, then it just gets old.

Would it be free? I said it already, I am drawing the line at paying for music. Booze is still being negotiated. Maybe if I go positive on the booze, PCad would feel inclined to provide the music for free. Hmmm. Let me think about this.

Garbage. Swill. Sewage. I'm embarrassed to even be responding to such a question, but I'm taking one for the team.

Writing it out is so painful I want to go apply places now. After bonus season...

Logged my first miles of the year with my local club. Only 22.2 miles but always great to get out in Winter. This time of year, every outdoor ride can be your last for awhile.

...my experiences in the Catholic church with Sacramental wine , found it to be markedly similar, if a little stronger in alcohol content.

They still seem to maintain the old ones (at least, I hope they do), but yeah, I was stunned when I got back from my brick with Atomic Girl and saw a KOM. Then I saw it was "2015 KOM". Ok, whatever. Not real.

I actually enjoy using strava to track my mileage and secondarily how I am doing on a handful of selected segments. But I don't really care how I am on the leaderboard, the only one I might be competing against is myself.
