For reference, when I picked up my two most recent bikes, I refused a Chromoly Panasonic for $75, but took it for $50. And that bike is likely to be heavier straight gauged hi-tensile steel. The bike I got is not as nice cosmetically, if it had been, then I would have considered $75 (for butted chromoly)

Hard to tell what that is, but I'd guess English and from the 1960s, given the nice forged rear dropouts without the derailleur hanger (unless it's been sawed off), partial wrap over seat stays, and oiler hole in the BB. My Falcon San Remo has some of those features, but very different lugs.

I thought its a Sovereign bike made by some English(?) company.
Thanks for the info.

Who is it that's looking for super-size frames:
Black Schwinn World Sport complete, 27" frame, in mint condition (sez the seller). Not dirt cheap at $240, but how many large opportunities are there? I'm local, and could do hands-on evaluation/photog/shipping-pimp duty.

No pics, but I'm willing to bet it's a looker; Colnago Arabesque $1600; just my size, but a bit out of my reach. I'll ship it if I can ride it through February (no wet, promise) before doing so!

A fixie with suicide brakes? I'm sure there is some clever comment to be made shortly.

I think the BIN price is whack. Mirage was pretty low on the food chain and it only costs $20 at my LBS to redish a wheel. Freewheel is $12 and chainring bolts are $5. That "conversion" would cost me $40 if I didn't have all the stuff just laying around. But pricing is kinda weird. My girlfriends daily rider is a Mirage and believe me I have alot more into its "conversion" and it is not as clean as that. It's very rustic....... So I guess if it fits and you like it go for it.........but you could build it for less. WAY less.

Oops.......I didn't read the whole shabang. Its been powder coated and has new grip and tires. That could add another $200. Maybe its not such a bad deal afterall..........And the shipping is free! Thats worth $50 alone.

Here are some pictures of the Colnago Arabesque (1985, 61 cm, Dura-Ace group, asking $1600) I mentioned above. I offered to post them on BikeForums. The CraigsList seller here in NYC does not want to part the bike out (that's the nature of interest he's received so far). He'd rather it went to someone who will appreciate it. It's a beautiful bike, not in mint shape, but a very rare-looking, idiosyncratic variation on the "supafresh bike" theme. I seem to remember some other photos of the frame, that showed more unique details -- I'll ask the seller -- because the interest is not in the DA group (they're not that rare) but in the frame itself.

https://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/bik/550178383.html

I have no connection with the seller at all, apart from having noticed his advert in local CraigsList. It has been posted previously, back in November, if I remember correctly.

I finally found a Mixte to restore… I got it on Craigslist in Indianapolis for $30. It’s a Fuji 12 speed, with 20” frame, and 27” wheels. Suntour components… I’ll try to put a picture on this post, but it’s the first picture I’ve tried to post… so I don’t know if it will work.

PS the first thing that has got to go is the pink bar wrap someone put on it…

This is more of a question but also an ebay find: https://cgi.ebay.com/campagnolo-super...QQcmdZViewItem

Are super record seatposts hard to adjust? It looks like a wacky mechanism but would look great on my Bilenky.

Not that tough. The hardest part is getting the wrench underneath and getting to turn more than 1/8th of a turn and then having to reposition the wrench. If you have the right tool (ratcheting), it is a breeze.

I do mine with the Campy-brand offset seatpost wrench, and yes, it's a pain. But then, how often do you adjust your saddle?
