The only difference youll really notice is how they look, the deepvs are smooth all the way through, while the dp18s have a visible edge/bevel between the deep portion and braking surface.

The Weinmann DP-18 wheelset I have on my Virtue has Specialized Nimbus Sport Tires 35c. I suspect it can easily handle up to 40c, depending on what the bike frame will take.

Just throwing that out there. This is based on some rider feedback we've gotten.

I had the same issue as the post above on my Schwinn Madison. I was about ready to begin pumping up the rear wheel when I decided to double check and make sure that there was no tube between the rim and the tire bead. Everything checked out fine except right at the valve stem. So I did what fyxationguy said and pushed up on the stem and put a small amount of air in and it seated perfectly. Aired it up the rest of the way and no problems. I haven't checked to see what brand the tube is, but I've never had that issue with any of my other bikes. Now that I know what to look for, no problem.

Hey Guys - we have heard of some issues with pinch flats with riders using our tires on the Weinmann's. The tube squeeze near the valve stem mentioned above may be the culprit. Our 700x28c tires run a thicker sidewall than most so you have to be careful when setting up the tube/tire on the Weinmann's. If you push the valve stem up into the tire and inflate then you shouldn't have an issue.
I have your tires (700 x 28c), and had absolutely no trouble mounting them on Weinmann ZAC-18 rims. In fact, they were just about the easiest I have ever mounted, and seated beautifully. Although they are a bit pricey and are not discounted much, I'm very happy with them and think they're worth the cost. The only thing I'd suggest is that you consider making a larger size, perhaps 700 x 35c or even 700 x 40c for serious tricking.
