made it to the group ride today. Strava KOM on a segment with 5000 riders and 31,000 attempts, all from sitting on and punching it at the end.

https://www.strava.com/activities/550623262

I found a babysitter for Sunday and was going to race but my wife vetoed that. Totally fair. She can't stop me from dominating lunch rides. >.<

Did a mock navy seal fitness test, doing 2 minutes of pushups, 2 minutes of situps, and maxed out pullups. Got 75, 39, and 18-should've gone for 20, but was out of breath and full of acid. Also the situps were harder with my feet on a 20 degree incline. Now I'm tired.. haven't done situps in forever. Going to be sore

Also, the poop was red today. Must be the beets

I did a team ride on my TT bike and got my ass handed to me. Took a shortcut to rejoin the group, then had it handed to me again.

I feel so slow on it right now. Especially when one of the strongest guys on the team shows up on his full TT rig and ripped most everyones legs off.

You're making me remember I really let the upper body work slide these past few years. I can't even do 18 pull ups in a row fresh anymore.

Fudgy nice to snag that KOM even though it's a hidden segment and nobody will know. I was worried you stole my TMR KOM but I should have known you wouldnt get up that early what with the twins. And you must be busy with them if you didn't even take the time to make fun of my crashing!

Track was pretty 'meh tonight. I felt pretty tired from being very busy at work and slightly underslept. The legs felt flat/stale as it's my first hard day after an easy week. Also the weather was awful: mid-80's (at night!), and super dry, total Santa Ana-like conditions. We were all complaining of cotton mouth after each event.

I did win the unknown distance race which was cool, but it pretty much fell into my lap: I was second wheel when they chose to ring the bell.

You make no sense!

I'm doin like 3-4hrs with 5x5FTP 2min recoveries in TT position so I get some power in position but don't nerf my gams.

weeknight crits, last night. Rolled in 8th on the B race after doing a decent amount of work and being caught on the front the last 1.5 laps but not wanting to drop the pace. Got beat by a guy i should never lose to - teammates gave me crap - will drop the hammer next week and actually uncork a sprint.

Finished the A which was all i could really ask for. Ate 80% of an XL Pepperoni pizza afterwards.

In total, nearly 50 miles in around 2:10 so i can't be too upset.

That's odd.

BTW NP at Ninigret 2 was 257, aka LOL-town. IF 1.06. Curious what you had.

I felt weirdly terrible yesterday while commuting (and in general), so I totally bailed on planned 30/30s. Will do those today and just skip the 3x20' tempo work I originally had scheduled. Rest tomorrow, openers Friday. Climbing races finally start on Saturday. I figure I can afford to lose out on the extra Z3 work more than I can the high-intensity stuff, and I'd rather be slightly over-rested than slightly over-trained.

Everytime you post power numbers I have to remind myself you weigh about as much as my bike.

Ha! And when you post them I remind myself you're heavier than me. But that does me little good in an ewang-off. FWIW 257w is 4.57 W/kg, and that's def higher than my FTP. So it's not like my tiny numbers are floating my tiny self up the climbs all that fast.

That's better than you are giving yourself credit for. This is the time of year the races get more climby, and I suspect you'll be finding success in the races where w/kg matters more than raw power.

I'm actually excited about the climby races for the first time since I started racing and thought being small was enough to make me a good climber. But also quite worried that I'm way more overmatched than I realize.

That's a pretty strong w/kg.

I did the Tuesday Worlds ride and unlike last time hung on through the toughest bit (half way through the ride, 5 min. climb). The field reduced from 50 (or more) to maybe 15. I flatted less than a mile after the big selection...

https://www.strava.com/segments/2332827 40 seconds faster than my last pb. Threshy + aero bars beats ~vo2 + old unaero position.

You'll be fine. You also get to **** with the watt monsters because you can accelerate over and over. This hurts the big guys even if they've got roughly similar w/kg @ ftp.

Hadn't thought of that, but that's a good point. I'll file it away.

4x10 at ~250 watts on the TT bike. Even managed to snag a KOM in the process (lol its so flat..calling them KOM's)

https://www.strava.com/activities/551881875

The second one was only 9 minutes because some ass pulled out their driveway and I had to pretty much come to a stop
