Ride was good. Just getting used to new bike and new more compact/aggressive position. Switched from 61cm P3 to 58cm P4 so it will take some time to adapt to that. It may not be visible from the picture but at 6'5" the 58 head tube is pretty short and the position is quite aggressive and hopefully aero too. Since my elbows are much lower and also closer than before my upper body is hurting more than my legs

About time I posted pics of my race bike.
Basically, it's my race-day bike when I swap the rear tire to a Conti GP4000 and take off the saddle bag, frame pump, and rear fender. Not the lightest bike around, but i'm not in the position to have that luxury.
Specs:
Frame, Fork, Headset: 2011 Lynskey Cooper in size small, Easton EC90 Aero fork, FSA Orbit MX headset
Drivetrain: Sram Rival throughout except for RHS Red shifter.
Crankset Chainring, BB: Quarq mounted onto 165mm Rotor 3D, Sram Rival 50/36t chainrings, Rotor Self-Aligning BB
Contact points: 42cm 3t Rotundo Pro bar, 130mm -17 3t Pro stem, 25mm setback Ritchey WCS alloy post, Cobb V-Flow Plus saddle, Ultegra 6700 pedals
Front wheel: 24H Kinlin XR300 radially laced to White Industry H2 hub using CX-Ray spokes and brass nipples. Built by Psimet. A testament to Rob's wheel building expertise, it has held up well for 11,000 miles.
Rear wheel: 28H Kinlin XR300 (chose the wrong color, d'oh) laced 3x DS and 2x NDS to Chris King R45 hub using DT Comp DS and DT Supercomp NDS. Brass nipples throughout. Built by yours truly, and it has held up well for 500 miles.
Bottle cages: Elite Race and Specialized Z
Cables: Yokozuna Reaction
Computer: Two Cycleops Cervo Computers, to display both instantaneous and lap powers. Haha, joking; swapped to Garmin Edge 500

Thanks. Now that you mention the -17, i might actually get one of the Profile Design Aris stems and go all the way to a -25. The combined length of the HT + Headset Stack is 16cm. Wayyyy to high. Having a 130mm stem angled 8 degrees below horizontal would give me another 2cm of drop.

that's the spirit! I think Cuddles uses one b/c it's the only Easton handlebar with a classic round bend.
As for the -25, I bet Nate can out do all of us and somehow find a -30 stem to use
btw, you should check out the stem slamming thread in the 41. Quite entertaining.

I'm actually using a Deda Pista track stem on my Litespeed, but that's because the head tube is so beautifully short (14 cm).

Budget crit bike for 2012
Kona Zing Carbon Frame & Fork
Force Shifters, FD, RD
Rival Brakes
SRM crank
Cinelli Track bars
Easton EA50 wheels
I know some people here dont believe in dedicated crit bikes but when you are running 180mm cranks on most of your bikes, you may need a crit bike with shorter (175mm) cranks, lower end components, cheap wheels, narrower handlebars, speedplay pedals etc

c'mon, get with the program. use 165mm cranks and you won't have to worry about clearance issues.

posted this earlier, but i've since concluded that the reach is too long when i'm in the drops, and I will have to shorten the stem. I got the current one (130mm at -25) for effectively $9 and the new one for $25. We'll see how the 120mm stem works.

^^^I dig the Liquigas color scheme. I have also always like the look of the Cannondale SRM.

We finally got this put together. Full SRAM Red with a Quarq Cinco, Carbone SR's, Pro Race 3 tires, FSA pro wing bars, Lizard Skins tape, and Arundel trident cages. The only thing I have left to do is the S-Works stem which should already be at the shop waiting.

They feel pretty fast. I've always been a fan of wheels with a 50mm or so profile, so I feel like they hold their speed well, but are still light enough to spin-up quickly. I haven't climbed on them yet, but I'm not much of a climber anyways. I've always wanted a set, and after a brief conversation with DJ Brew (you may know him from the MABRA area) last year, I was 100% sold on them. DJ uses them as a primary wheelset for both training and racing. While I probably won't do that (I can't afford to blow through several sets of Michelin's each year), I'll most likely ride them in group rides and races.
Are you racing with a team from the NoVA area? If so, who?
