Light sleet was falling on my way to work. 'Round here that means people will be hiding in their bomb shelters.

raining/sleeting here. Snow later. I believe I'll be riding inside today. Hopefully there's a fan somewhere, I didn't bring mine from school.

Sub I sent you a present yesterday.
Ex - I finally sent you your prize too. I can only stand being near all the old people at the post office once a month or so.

Judas Priest on a Popsicle stick! Our county is closing down the schools because of fracking rain. Rain, by God! Rain! (there's a slight chance of a wintery mix). But they act like a doggam volcano erupted and is spewing forth hot, molten lava all over the county.

I remember my first year of school in the south (I started school in Maine). It started snowing ever so lightly but the buses still picked us up. When we got to the school the principal told us to turn around and take us home. School was canceled. I was dumbfounded.
I remember going to school in Maine with snow piled on the sides of the roads taller than my father. In 1st grade, during recess, we built snow castles.

I started school in central PA, but it was only Kindergarten, so I don't really remember. I'm sure we went to school in heavy snow though. When I was in school in Meck county, there had to actually be something on the ground, not just the threat of something.

I have one awesome source that I'm probably going to use for an entire chapter. I don't know how I feel about that, but it's really helping me tie things together. Seems like a cop out though...
https://www.amazon.com/Public-Health-...1152545&sr=8-1
Here are some other books for anyone interested in history of disease/etc. Aside from the obvious 'Guns, germs, and steel' and 'plagues and people'. If you haven't read those, they are incredible. Different 'breed' of history, but the connections are incredibly well researched and thought out.
- Nudge: Book on choice architecture. I.e. how choice and display of choice affects decision making processes and how illusion of choice and free will makes people make better decisions, but at the same time how too much structure, i.e. forced choice, makes things crumble.(https://www.amazon.com/Nudge-Improvin...f=pd_rhf_p_t_2)
-Book on malaria eradication in mexico. (https://www.amazon.com/Cold-War-Deadl...f=pd_rhf_p_t_3)
-Short history on malaria
https://www.amazon.com/Making-Tropica...f=pd_rhf_p_t_4)
-Malaria as a social force and how it shaped italy's history. also how it was defeated in Italy: (https://www.amazon.com/Conquest-Malar...9&sr=1-1-fkmr0)
History of disease is cool as hell. I'm being pulled over to the dark side...
Note: Nudge is like the freakenomics of the health decision making world. It comes from the same school, i.e. uchicago. The chicago school of thought of this era is really really interesting. These two bookes (freakenomics and nudge) have been two of the most thought provoking works I've ever read)
