Man, this frame failure has been a brilliant way to roll through the 41. The argument is the right balance of irrational to rational, and it can just keep going. At this point, I think I'll be more sad about those threads dying than my frame.
I have to thank EDR for stoking the fire there with the poll. Wow.

So my Doc asked me why haven't gone inside the knee to see what's up. My reply was because he didn't want to and I wasn't thrilled with the idea.
His reply is we should have done micrfracture surgery back in July and pinned the femur fracture at the same time. I used up most of my short term stuff laying on the couch and getting huge, letting the femur fracture heal, and now I'm stuck until August for the 12 month rolling calendar to reset my short term insurance counter at work.
Plan B, a 5 week series of Hyalgan (synthetic synovial fluid) injections and 6 weeks additional down time on top of that. He figured since I'm bone on bone in the left knee we might as well shoot up both knees while we're spending insurance. Go me.
On a brighter note, I can still engage in blissful JRA if it doesn't kill me, and not on injection days. The arrival of the new frameset is gonna go over real well in the the ol' homested.
If you're in Texas this Spring look for the fat guy eating pie while working a corner and say hi.

Depending on the weather and how much time I have. I think I'm going to try helping out with one (or both) of the 2 crit series in the area. I really want to help out CDR and maybe he'll let one of my broke ass college teammates race for free if I/we help out with something. More likely at the closer race though since 2-3 hours of driving 1x a week might not work.
I still want to be part of the community though, so I'm going to try my best to help out in some context. If none of my teammates can race, then I might ask them to let a junior or someone else race for free. whatever.

Ensure those shots are covered under your insurance. Up here -where most medical expenses are covered- those shots require special approval or the patient has to pay a fraction of the cost. I think p’cad pays like a grand for those with his plan but I’m not sure.

Having two MRI's of each knee that look like Hiroshima and Nagasaki made it pretty easy to get approval. Worst case scenario, I could do this through the VA too since both knees and the back are from a serious case of bad timing and location, but that takes for friggin ever.

I think at almost 47 yrs old, two bum knees, and two titanium cages holding my lower spine in place my hour glass is running on quality racing seasons left.
Yea, they are normally an out patient surgery deal but we checked with for approval and the insurance company said so long as they were done in the clinic all I had to pay was my normal office visit co-pay. I get the same deal on MRI's since they hve their own machine. We printed out the approval form with the person's name that approved it just in case. It would suck to get billed for both knees as an outpatient surgery.

Also, I hate insurance agencies, but yours seems to be reasonable. Still hate 'em though.

I can safely say if things aren't better by the summer I will go seeking a new Doc for another opinion on that.
