I netflixed the first three episodes of Dexter season 3 and watched last night.
Man, that show is incredible.
Greatest line:
[background]Dexter (serial killer himself) sees a suspicious fellow asking girlfriend's 7-y/o daughter where the Cheerios are at the store. Dexter steps in and he can tell this guy's a predator. Sees license plate in the parking lot, looks him up on Miami-Dade db, and he's a sex offender. They see him again at the beach, and the girlfriend gets the scoop about the Cheerios from the daughter. Mom's a little freaked out.[/background]
Dexter: "No, it's nothing to worry about."
Dexter Narrative: "...because in the world of predators, the Lion doesn't worry about the Jackal."
Anyone who's seen it: I about fell out of bed laughing when Dexter stopped to get the milk.

one of those mornings
my practice session was underwhelming
x-c skiing was meh
I think I shouldn't expect much from the rest of the day

Riding with a teammate yesterday, hit a patch of black ice. Broken, 6-8 weeks recovery time. I get casted this Friday.
I should be able to continue to train indoors on the trainer, but my first race back will probably be Battenkill .
Watch yourselves, and best of luck to everyone! I hate missing the first 10 races of the season.

I was watching the womens cross country....after seeing and hearing Al Troutwig hack up cycling it's refreshing to know he didn't hate cycling he just hates sports..god he may be the worst color guy in the world.

not sure if you were busy playing with your hotwheels back then, but it was one of the x training sports of choice for people like lemond and phinney.

Not exactly like a crit though. Speeds are comparable to mountain biking, there is some drafting but the difference between leading and following is a few percent, compared to the 20-30% often seen in cycling. You can't get super close because you have skis that stick out in front of you and the guy in front of you is polling backwards.
It's awesome off-season training. I spent my whole Christmas break skiing this winter. I think I'm heading out to do some tomorrow as well.

Yeah, I raced it all through high school. Best full body workout you can possibly imagine. Top XC skiers are said to have the highest VO2 numbers of any set of athletes.
