On the note of injuries, has anyone found a good way of stabilizing their knees and keeping them warm on and off the bike?
Knee warmers don't work so well when you're off the bike...

Maybe under armour? I wear it as tights because it is what I have, but it is pretty tight, so I guess it may provide some "stabilizing."

What kind of stabilization are you looking for?
Wearing tights full-time may not be advisable because it keeps pressure on the patella, which can cause problems during motion.

Doc wants to take an MRI of my back because the bursitis thing still hasn't gone away.
My left knee has started acting up as well, while the right hasn't been misbehaving too much lately. Neither hurts when I squat on it and actually hurts more a few days later, I think it's because of change of gait due to the hip.
Doc wants to get an MRI for the left knee as well, but right now I'm sitting at my desk with a chopat strap and wearing knee warmers and it feels fine, so I might call and cancel the MRI because they're expensive and because I think it's going to come up negative. My right knee came back with 'no issues' when clearly there's something wrong there.
I want to try a good knee stabilizing brace that keeps the joint warm while also correcting tracking and I'm looking for something along those lines. It should be comfortable, supportive, and mobile, so I can ride/lift while wearing it. The local CVS was having a sale and I can go back this week or next week and pick some stuff up.
I think I'm going to take a week off from working out because I have too much work and I need to give this stuff a week off everything to reevaluate.
I might try weightlifting knee sleeves since those can be pretty heavy duty and would keep the joints warm. Not sure how well they would work for riding though.
WR, I'm worried what you posted wouldn't allow enough motion to for running/cycling/lifting.

Kids, take it outside.

If you get a neoprene type brace, I'd sure it's not pushing on your patella. I'd probably cut the knee hole bigger myself, so it doesn't even touch the sides of the patella.
Random thoughts aside, it sounds like you're ready for a real medical opinion, and it's a little scary to be second-guessing the MRI plans...

I know, I'm not going to cancel it, but man this is getting old. I've already had one for my 'bum' knee and it came to nothing. Hopefully I can find a good doc back home or where ever I end up next year. Heck, moving to boston and working for a healthcare agency might even be a good thing if it means that there's like a billion good doctors around who might be able to figure this out.
I'm just really tired of all this you know...
I thought I was done after being injured for half a year...
And I can't find my bloody ankle brace. That would come in so handy right now.
Edit: Woo, found the ankle brace. It was under my bed in between some boxes.

I think the brace WR posted is a CTi, which is by prescription.

I'm sorry, but honestly, I don't really care. I like riding bikes, I like talking/reading about riding bikes. Botto gets in the way of said activity, thus he annoys me. Not saying I don't like him, I've never meet him in person, so I can't really say that, but here on bf, he is annoying.

Fixed my bike from the crash. Re-bent the derailleur hanger with my fancy derailleur hanger fixer tool (a large bolt). Then re-tuned it. Had to retape the bars as well, one side came loose.
It was the first time I really looked at the bike. Some scratches on the right shifter, the RD is pretty scratched up and the cage was bent (I re-bent it some). Bar tape on the right side is pretty bad, but not terrible. All in all, not too bad.

As far as the health thing goes, I have a VA appointment/eval coming up in a couple months. Going there always puts things back in perpesctive. The one group/charity ride I try and never miss is the Wounded Warrior ride. HTFU, indeed.
