time to go dodge thunderstorms. This is becoming a ritual lately. Every single day is scattered thunderstorms all day and into the night. As much as I love powerful thunderstorms, I'd rather not ride in them.

We're using openDNS for now cause we're cheap. That coupled with the Ironport security device gives me lots of interesting logs to root through.

I think my friend was taking a shot at the movie more than EGR's performance.
Wasn't that Yul Brynner? If he didn't die after Westworld.....

Actually, I kind of liked Westworld.

My mistake. He played Dathan, the Israelite overlord. Still, he chewed a lot of Cecil B's scenery, which is saying something, with Chuck and Yul in the same picture.

Read the book. Liked it a lot. Saw the movie. Wondered if the screenwriters read the same book I did. It was still pretty good, just significant deviation from how i remembered the plot in the book.

Wasn't Yul an android in Westworld?

The thing I most remember from Yul is the public service spots aired after he died from lung cancer. "Don't smoke. Whatever you do, don't smoke." My mantra when I quit.

That and when he killed his son in "Tarus Bulba".

I'm finally getting hyped up for the World Cup.

And just when I do get all excited, I look at the schedule and notice a glaring issue:

Sherman Park Masters 1-4 @12:30; Cat 3 @ 3:15; p123 @ 5pm
US vs England @ 2:30

I think this is the only crit in Chicago this summer. I may be able to pull off the masters race then hammer home for the start. I think that its cutting it too close and I won't be able to watch it with peeps. no fun.

Got home from dinner and my sister-in-law said they had a rat on their porch that they couldn't get to go away. Well, we have 2 Rat Terriers.....so naturally we brought them over and cheered as our dogs made short work of it. Yeah, it's a Friday night in Texas baby!

Yep. A android western gunfighter. I guess it was supposed to be reminiscent of The Magnificent Seven but not really, even though I am a sci-fi fan.

I remember those ads too. I'm non-smoker but my parents were. They didn't stop.
