I just looked over the results and see that (according to CN) LL and Wiggins lost 0:15 today? Did something happen that caused a split?

Yeah,I noticed that too. It was a large group :15 back so it was a split, not a penalty. Would have been nice if VS had some commentary on a shake up in the GC top 5, but I guess the stage was otherwise so exciting that they couldn't get to it.

Skipped watching this mornings stage to watch my kids at their swim lesson. I think my morning was better spent. As interesting as the first week was and the last week should be, I guess I can forgive a week worth of meh. Might get something done.

It's funny how they can unite around a common cause like a radio ban but they can't get a decent riders union together to stand up for their rights against the UCI.

^^^One's immediate and short term and requires organization for all of a day. The other requires actual organization commitment, a longer time horizon, and a willingness of the riders who are doing well to identify with those who are not.

Honestly, and I mean this with all due respect to these guys, collectively this is not the smartest group of people in the world. And the culture of these guys has been, for many years of their life to do exactly what they are told, the way they are told, and do it now. DS's have a lot of power over guys that have been in the cycling culture. How else do you get guys to stick needles into themselves not really even knowing what they are using?
Getting a union, to these guys is like flying to the moon.
It's a lot like the NHL used to be when good Canadian kids were like 10 and were moved to development teams, billeted with locals, and the coach was God. Until there was a larger influx of guys coming into the league from the college ranks, and there was expansion, there were so few jobs that they didn't dare speak up. Not the case anymore.
As long as pro cyclists are mostly made of up guys with junior high educations making little money, I doubt that much will change there.

I bored me just thinking about it, so I didn't even read the feeds.

Levi, Wiggins and a bunch of other riders lost 15"??? There was no split visible on TV.
I don't quite get it.

I was "watching" the replay this evening, and I didn't even realize what was going on until about 1k out. Never saw the break get caught, just saw the sprint. Apparently that was the only action.

There was a gap in the pellington of about what looked like 4-5 bike lengths between the Yellow Jersey group and the one Wiggins and Leipheimer were in...
