I think Lance had the physical ability to place even higher than he has. He lost some position by marking Wiggins wheel yesterday. I don't think luck played a huge role in his results - he really is still just that good.

well, he acts like a jerk, drops his teammates, defies orders from the car and does that little 'pistol' thing that's equal parts cheesy and annoying. you can accept the fact he can ride, but i'd be surprised if anybody actually likes him.
i vote we put cavendish and contador on the same team so we can all hate them while they win.

I don't think cycling isn't big enough in this country (like NASCAR) to warrant all sorts of non-cycling related sponsors. Radio Shack has seemed like they were on the verge of collapse for years (based on nobody ever being in their stores, and stores around me closing).
I guess just sponsoring Lance's team will get you plenty of press over here, just because it's Lance. They probably wouldn't even consider sponsoring anyone else's team.

I seriously don't remember the last time I went to radioshack for something and didn't regret it. What a crappy company.

Yeah, I'm not sure I understand it either. I understand that a sponsor doesn't need to have something to do with bikes, but most American sponsors these days do.

They probably are working on a line of Livestrong phone answering machines, Livestrong AM radios, and Livestrong Heat Shrink Tubing.

He would probably have fewer if he tried to learn English. He apparently doesn't speak it any better now than he did in 2007. It's not much different from Lance at least attempting to learn French.
Radio Nashbar ftw.
Radio Nashbar ftw.

If he hadn't been dropped because he kept up, yes. If he hadn't been dropped because nobody attacked, then maybe he still would have been trailing Wiggins and Armstrong today. However, it seems likely that if Contador hadn't attacked, the Schlecks soon would have and the outcome would be the same.

So why didn't they just call it Mellow Johnny's, and then start expanding the shop into a nationwide chain of Trek dealers? He could easily take a big market share, since he's Lance.

His bike shop is one of my clients, so hell yeah I'm a fan (would be anyway of course). Looking forward to photographing his Giro and Tour bikes when they get back.
