Good luck tomorrow. I've got to be at work around the time you'll be lining up with a number pinned to your kit.

Whoah, that's the opposite of 200W. Seems a bit high, no?

@kensuf - I'd give a left nut to have those power numbers...

That frame pump adds 25 watts, then you add in the hairy legs.....

I'm in the low 200s.

similar to nate -
in the latest iteration I'm:
a small guy, wearing a bird-beak hat, wearing a singlet that takes 5' to get in, riding a big wheel up front, having spent time practicing the "bend over & hold it" technique.

The OP did say "flat" course.. Todays 15k had 150' of elevation gain, I didn't go nearly as fast.

Yeah, I do what I can. Well, except for taking off the frame pump. For reference:

I can break the hour with 200 watts, but I weigh 120 and have done basically everything I can to make my position and equipment as slippery as possible. I'm actually trying to do it under 200, but I can't quite get that slippery.

I'd calc out at around 200 or less at 155lbs. I make thin on the bike though.

WR: that looks like a pretty decent position for a big guy, actually - how tall are you and how much do you weigh?

I finish my base in 2 weeks - plan to give it a go with my 240FTP and see what sort of numbers I come up with it, and then have a real crack in September.

252W for 25.8mph. 215lbs/6'6" - so even though I think I have a pretty decent position (currently on a modified road bike), I probably have a relatively high cda.

Knees outside of elbows seems like a really bad idea...

? My knees stay behind my elbows. Granted, they're centered further apart than my elbows, but is that uncommon? Am I misunderstanding your suggestion?

Looking at some other tallish riders:

At a very flexible 6'0", 180 (can almost get my palms on the ground when standing with feet together), I am hoping to have a good Cda.

The limiting factor is going to be the fact that I need to have my elbows outside my knees. I have long legs/short torso - no way to avoid elbow/knee overlap unless I go for a Superman-style position, which I dont know that I can hold for an hour (I get cramps in that position after 4-5 min).

I averaged 289 watts for an 18 minute TT effort 3 years ago and only averaged 22.3 mph. I'm not very aero. I wonder how much faster I would have gone had I weighed 10 lbs less? It was a flat as a pancake course, big headwind going out, big tailwind on the return.

I can get my position more aero, but I can't do anything about my wide upper body (shoulders).

Your first picture looks like your knees are outside your elbows to avoid hitting them.

I'd try moving the saddle back, which will reduce the pressure on your arms. Practice relaxing all the shoulder and arm muscles and it should be doable.
