Successfully completed the 20' test today! Another PR in the books, 307w for 20', or 4.37 w/kg.
Previously my best 20 mins (since 2009) was 285w, so I'm pretty happy with it.
But there's more room for improvement!
The hill I used (Page Mill) has a few flat/downhill parts that are annoying.. makes it harder to keep the power up. Should probably use OLH for this but it's a bit further out for me.

yesterday I did 2x 5+ w/kg for 16min.
today, I am setting other new high-water marks for the year.

I am kind of on hiatus currently. Re-prioritized some things and taking some time riding easy or off the bike. Been into the sport a bit too seriously and basically had cut everything else in life out. So just trying to find a better balance. And no longer suffering in rain or cold for the sake of training, I'll let you guys enjoy that.

Hahaha!
And Matt, OLH worked for me (same w/kg, very close to 20 minutes), but when (or if) we get as fast as Fudgy we will HAVE to use some other climb. Man, I would hate to use Page Mill. I'll be skipping Spectrum for a trial up OLH on Saturday. I get the feeling one month won't have made much difference though. I only hope I won't have room to finish the 20 minutes.

And for the record - I'm faster than fudgy! Just not up climbs. =]

...and pre trip/3 weeks off the bike training is done. basically nailed by 3 base blocks and got in 9 solid hours this past week (base 3 week 4) as a bonus. weight is just about where i wanted it. 3 weeks off the bike is going to be weird, longest break i've had in a few years. hopefully i can keep my weight relatively in check while i'm gone (if i can come back at 130...i'll be happy) and put in a big february i'll be able to bring my form in time for summer racing. for now, however, time to have fun and enjoy costa rica!

Day off the bike today, just finished my abs routine and will do some foam rollering + stretching.
Over the weekend I'll complete a modest 4 hours to hit 10 for my first week of base. I think on sat I'll do a z2 road ride on my fixed gear and Sun will see a MTB ride.

I'd be happy if I could do 4 w/kg of FTP. My PR is 307 W @ 20' @ 77kg.
I've hit 302 W for 20' in the middle of a ride on a random climb that I was hammering on. If one day I could hit 350W I would be a happy camper.
I just dont get how fudgy can have low peak power but his threashhold is through the roof!

Awesome ride today with my good friend who is back visiting from HI. Beautiful weather, peeled off the arm warmers half way! We rode and chatted just like old times!

My training today was day 4 of rest week between a lot of base and my first build block, getting blood drawn for yearly physical where I needed three days off the bike, and renewing USAC license for 2014.

hit a new 20 min PR @ 290w on Wednesday(well actually 289 but I'm calling it 290 dangit), putting me at just about 4w/kg FTP finally.
further evidence for my theory that being hungover can produce a good performance
did some scratch races last night with the team
now i'm feeling sick gonna be upset if it gets worse tomorrow and I have to skip the first early bird race

Two hours of just riding. First day back out on the road exactly two weeks since surgery. Wow, I am really surprised at the speed with which my clavicle has healed. Still too weak for pushups but I was in the drops for a while.
PS: I really enjoyed reading how some of you guys do it post injury (ala google search), and my gf is thinking I am crazy...
