Took yours and others advice and did the local hammerfest. I'm going to try and do this at least twice a month.

Raincross ride in Redlands. First time doing it, and spying others Strava data I knew this was biting off more than I could chew. Eventually you have to jump out the nest and fly. I held on for about 30 miles then got dropped. Kept closing the gap, but caught a stoplight and was done. The 30 mile ride back solo was not fun, I sat up and caught about 15 red lights in a 7 mile strip.

I'm glad I did it but disappointed that I didn't make the whole ride. Even though I knew finishing the whole thing was a pipe dream from the get go, I still expected to finish it. I did learn some stuff, if I was a tad bit more savvy I could have held on longer. The big thing that killed me was not being able to keep up with the surges.

good luck.

I just completed 2hrs of z1/2 on the fixed gear, 42/18t. Was originally planning on 3+ at high z2 but I have a mild chest cold so I'm taking it easy.

Now it's on to foam rolling, stretching, and pounding more water.

Folsom Coffee Republic Ride. Attempted team lead out for final sprint. Went so-so, could have been better.

It sucks to get dropped. Believe me, I know from personal experience. Next time hang on a little bit longer and it will suck a little less. Pretty soon, you'll be holding on the whole way and it won't suck at all.

Did Spectrum, super sketchy today. Crash towards the end, team mate needed a new wheel so we ended up waiting for like an hour ugh! Team-building exercise I guess.

On the plus side I took a sprint. Early Bird training crit tomorrow.

Bam! Went out and beat my PR up Old La Honda by almost a minute and a half (18:53 for the LowKey segment).
New 20' power: 331 watts (4.53 w/kg)

Technically it was 19' and change. I was going to turn right at the top like Mattm suggested, but completely forgot about that as I dismounted and threw up on the side of the road.

That sucks. Saw 3 crashes today at the ride I was on. Sketchy black ice and high speeds are not a good combo

Good thing I wasn't there for the crash! I don't want to be in another crash for a while.

Oh yeah, I think so. Crits are short, and today's effort - while hard - was still short.

Z4 intervals today, surprised myself and felt pretty damn good on all of them. For some reason I dread Z4 cause its long and painful but today it wasn't so bad. I did it on a local climb and would go up and down. Next time I might up the wattage we'll see...

Weather was definitely chilly as hell in the morning, I started off in the 30's and then it warmed up into the 60's toward the end of the ride. On the way back some fast dude passed me so I jumped his wheel and enjoyed the tempo/Z2 draft back to where I started. I talked to the dude he was super cool, sup Brian!

TSS of 210 for a pretty short 2.5 hr ride.

Goodness, how do you survive these sort of stuff?

THe good thing is that i set an all time low on minutes spent off the rollers, 15 minutes total over 3hr 45min. THe bad news is that i was getting numb nutz after 2hr 30. Actually did well enough despite quite a few cadence drops.

Nah, i won't call you lazy. You put in 20+ hrs/week. If you feel like it, bring your rollers and we can do indoor roller training together next winter when it snows.

I ended up watching 1 hr of Stage 18 of 2011 TdF, 1hr 40 min of the 2012 Women's Olympic Road Race, and 70 min of this year's LBL. Too bad the computer that has most of my videos is current out of commission. Time for me to pony up the $$$ for a new power unit so that i can watch all the epic grand tour mountain stages next time (hopefully won't need to until next year).

Sipping on some rummed Horchata right now. I think i earned it.

I watch a lot of movies, and a lot of tv shows that are short (nice goal. every 20 minutes get a whole new episode).

I might ride 20+ hours a week, but the majority of it is very easy. I like big miles low intensity, it's always worked for me. I would love to join you, but first you must let me store all my bike junk at your apartment. I have a feeling my roommate is not going to be a fan of my cycling addiction.

it's really hard for me to produce power watching anything but bike races. Strange.

Watching Breaking Bad was good for high endurance efforts, but not much else. After two rather balmy winters, we are getting hit with vengeance.

While i'd love to help you with your bike junk, i don't think my dates would like to see much more bike crap than what's already there.

That said, if it's not too conspicuous, i'd consider it.

16 sets of wheels
11 tires
14 sets of pedals
a frame pump
a floor pump
all of my kits (yes all 16 sets of bibs)
my prono mags

Also, that's weird. I have no "trouble" hitting the same power numbers on the rollers, but i don't like riding hard, so it's difficult in a different way. My brain gets bored long before my legs get tired.

I think a lot of people were saving up for the race tomorrow, so it was bunching up more than usual and the sprints were super-sketch.

We had one a few weeks back on our Saturday "race ride" (Coffee Republic). Guy went right off the ride trying to position for the sprint. Ended up being ok, but a bit much a race ride sprint.

I figure I will throw my hat into the ring here. Cat 4 7/20 points, moved back to santa clara after 4 years off and on in stockton at university of the pacific, getting my BS in mechanical engineering. Effectively took a month to finish school, and have been doing base ever since. Trying to decide when to start building. Did the san bruno hill climb, got 11/21, power was only 5 watts down from my peak of last year, so I take that as a good sign.
