Rode outside! 5x9 @ 100%, on the single speed. 9' because that's how long the hill was. The only rest in between was coming back down the hill.
I feel much deader after today's 150 TSS than I did after a 390 TSS ride a couple weeks ago. Not all TSS is created equal.

Sidenote - I once saw Will Dafoe at the gatehouse while I was filling up my bottles. We exchanged numbers and battled for second billing in Boondock Saints.
Okay, that last part is a lie. But I'm sure that's what would've happened if we talked at all.

44/55 to the steel bridge. Mohonk is tough on a single speed -- I've done it, but I wouldn't want to do repeats. Also the shoulder situation on Mohonk is dire at the moment, with the snow.
Dafoe lives about 2 miles from the gatehouse. He used to live in an extremely eye-catching black rubber house. Apparently it became unliveably moldy, he moved to a nice stone house, and the rubber one sits unoccupied. I'll take a photo of the empty rubber mansion next time I go past.
[edit] or I'll just google "dafoe rubber house."

I used to live at the corner of shaft (hehehehehe) and South Mountain, like a couple of miles from the 44/55 climb.

Forced recovery. Since my leg balance is now around 70 / 30 I did a ton of right leg power drills. Its sore enough that doing anything of substance would be dangerous.

I tried to do a 20m test today (first of the season) and things went pretty well for about 13 minutes... I was so frustrated that I wasn't holding the number I wanted that I bagged it.

two tabata sets, steep 3.5 min climb, then a few ok sprints.
the tabatas were quite hard. 20" all-out, 10" coasting, go again about 10 times. it felt like a crit, which I suppose is the point..

I understand the frustration, but isn't the idea to find out where you are, even if it's not where you want to be?

6x3' vo2max efforts last night. First time I've really introduced any into my training for this year, which means more to come as we get closer to racing. The last one was brutal

13 minutes is still relevant. Use 88%-90% to set zones until your next test. Make sure you are rested.

Hour on the trainer last night, legs felt much better than I anticipated. Ended up hitting a new trainer max and pr'ed (on the trainer) through 10 seconds. Damn zwift!
