That might be worth trying. Some of our windows have also swelled to the point they don't open, so those are getting replaced (probably with aluminum ones so that doesn't happen again) when we get the spare $20 grand or so.

Back to bicycles, this is a surprise rest week I guess, since the kids are on break and my wife is underwater with work.
I've had so much fun at the 5 crits I've done over the past 3 weekends that I'm thinking I'm not even going to bother doing RRs any more. I'm already signed up for Battenkill so I'll do that, and the summer Greene County race is in my backyard so I'll probably do that, but for anything farther away, at the moment I'm thinking I'd rather drive 2 hours for a couple of crits than drive an hour for a road race. Thinking about crits gets me all tingly and excited and thinking about road races makes me feel tired.

Periods of rain and snow showers in the morning. Mostly cloudy and windy in the afternoon. High 44F. Winds WNW at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 30%.

It's the new normal. An hour of today's recovery ride was in sleet, at this point it no longer even registers as **** weather.

I'm deciding between Johnny Cake and Branchbrook. As a 4 I can race at 7 am and immediately after at 8 am. BB is an hour from home at 7am the JC is 2 hours from home at 11am. Right now I'm thinking Branchbook, anyone have any insights?

Or Ninigret, which is probably close to 2 hours for you (maybe 1:30?), depending how far you are from I-95. Chris Hinds.

Either way, right now what I need is more racing. I need to remember how to be comfortable in a group, stay sheltered and think about what is happening around me.

I'm supposed to do an FTP test this week. If that goes okay then I'll go do Ninigret. If I go it'll be for a while, like maybe from before the P123s until after the Juniors. I have to find someone to look after Junior while I race but I have someone in mind to ask.

Been watching the Wire. No real "oh snap!" moments but just this inevitable rolling turdball kind of thing instead. Breaking Bad had those "oh snap" moments. I'm not well educated on shows but the Wire is pretty engrossing, ditto Breaking Bad. Haven't seen much of anything else.
