My wife is a motorist. She does not ride a bicycle and never did even as a child. About 10 years ago I asked her if seeing cyclists running red lights offended her in any way. She gave me a funny look and answered "I couldn't care less". She went on to say she doesn't even notice it, even though I live in a city where 99% of all daily commuter cyclists run red lights whenever they can. After 21 years together I have never heard her complain about any cyclist causing her to react, other than those going the same way in the same lane - which she also just passes when she can without drama.
Nowadays, any time a car stops at a red light, the driver immediately looks a their phone - which means they have no chance of seeing me run the light across their bow. I am more offended seeing every dbag on the phone than any of them are about my red light running because they are no longer witnessing my behavior.
