Using Shiftmate for FD?
I have a weird idea to run by you all.
One of my bikes uses a Campagnolo Record triple crank with a Campagnolo Record double front derailleur and Record 10 speed brifters. This setup actually works. However, it requires a somewhat long lever throw to make a shift. To go from middle chainring to big chainring can sometimes require one and a half full pushes of the lever. So front shifts are a little "deliberate".
I was thinking of putting a Shiftmate inline with the FD housing - perhaps up at the downtube cable stop - to achieve more cable pull for a given movement of the lever. Idea being this would allow a faster shift, like getting from middle to big with less than one full push of the lever.
What do you think? Ever tried this?

Never tried that. The leverage will change on a ft der depending on the arc of the der's anchor arm and the cable's angle of pull. I have changed (by a small amount only) the lever throw amount by changing the cable's routing WRT the der's arm. Of course there's the trick of clamping the cable o the anchor bolt's underside. I figure the FD doesn't really index so the exact ratio is not important. But that is just a theory.

I've been thinking of doing that with my current setup.
Triple
Suntour FD
Microshift 9s triple brifters.
I just don't seem to quite have the range for small to big, so I'm thinking of a 110% or so, but I haven't quite figured out what I need. It may actually need to be a bit greater, say for derailleur travel, 3/16" in 1" which would be almost 120%.
The nice thing about my setup is that it came with top cable routing and a bottom pull derailleur, with a pulley to reverse the cable, so installation would be fairly straightforward.
I do find that I need to periodically trim the derailleur, and at least my Microshift seems to have variable pull... something like:
trim, trim , drop, trim, trim, drop
So, it isn't continuous action, and should have the drops centered on the actual shift.

This describes what we had to do back in the day. Shift, trim, trim some more the shift and trim again. Andy.

Have you thought of a Shimano FD? The Campy cable throw for triples is known to be similar to that for Shimano MTB FD's, so presumably a road FD will take a lot less cable.
I found a more current version of the Shimergo tables that has more recent 11-speed stuff, but as always it's all about the RD and right shifter, not much to say about the left and front. I think it's pretty buggy data, too.

What I meant is that the Microshift seems to have both a small jump and a large jump, so one technically should design it so that the large jump is centered on the chainrings. I'm not sure if Campy does the same things.
BTW, in case you missed it, here is the Shiftmate (and Travel Agent) Crib Sheet

Heavens, mix Campagnolo and Shimano, no no no, perish the thought.
I don't know which shiftmate I have, but most of those ratios would seem suitable. The travel agent seems a bit extreme for this half baked idea.

where you plan to mount this thing? It has to butt against a stop & cable housing is coming in at 90 degrees..
Its Di2 electronic shifting for you .. sell the Porsche. (it only gets you in trouble anyway)

I'm thinking the downtube cable stop.
Porsche is going this summer. I no longer drive it.

New Owner will probably head for the Coast on a weekend (NB; Clatskanie is a speed trap town on Hwy 30)..
maybe you can pick up a Hobby Metal Lathe & milling Machine with the sales Proceeds..
Softride as I recall had a cable travel change devise with a Lever mechanism rather than a roller
the distance from the Lever pivot was where the 2 travel alternatives were Made..
