v brake adapter

i am lookings at the dan's comp v brake adapter plate for the rear of my old puch. the bike came with 27" wheels but now has 700c wheels. will the adapter plate fit this application? the front conversion is taken care of with a 700 hybrid fork.

the present centerpull brake fits the 700c but i like the feel of the v brakes better, their closer to the feel of the brakes on my ducati, and for sure i am not changing the ducati brakes to centerpulls.

Aw, c'mon! Live a little! Besides, you could write a real neat letter to Cycle World.

As to the Dan's adapter on the Puch- I think you might end up with the brakes mounted too low to hit the rim correctly. The adapter is designed to clear fat mountain-bike tires. Besides, running V-brakes means you'd also have to install "long-pull" drop handlebar levers, like the Dia-Compe 287-V's or Tektros. Not impossible, but an additional expense.

In my experience, V-brakes are a little mushier than correctly set up dual-pivot sidepulls. Longer reach means more mush, too, but long-reach dual-pivots are available. Maybe these will fit:
47-57mm reach:

i already have flat bars as the bike is more or less set up as a hybrid 8speed triple and i have a set of v brake levers. i agree there is likely a reach problem but thats why i was asking the question. i did some goggle searches on the adapter and some folks mention its use with 700c but no final results. i have a cassette hub coming that i could use with the old 27 rear wheel so 1 1/4 [32mm] wide tires could be used.

actually to answer your real question NO those adaptors will not work. you need to already have brazeon mounts on the bike. these just adjust the position of the brakes on the existing mount. https://www.danscomp.com/489050.php

thanks bianchigirl, i will just follow my original plan to change the front only to vbrake via a new fork. the old 10 speed puch frame has no brazeon studs and i don't reckon to alter the frames vintage status.
