Missing Rear Rack Hardware

I bought a Transit TD-1 rear rack awhile back and finally decided to install it on my bike (Marin Muirwoods 29er), but I couldn't find the bolts and hardware that came with it (E: M5 x 35mm, F: M5 x 10mm, G: M5 x 16mm, H: Washers, J: Spacers). I went to Home Depot and found M5 x 10mm and M5 x 16mm bolts, but couldn't find anything longer than 30mm. Does anyone know where I can find the rest of the parts or any other ways to install the rack? It doesn't have to look good, I'll be happy as long as the rack is secured. Please let me know. Thanks.

Did you give the 30mm ones a try? Maybe they're long enough to clear your brakes? Oh, I guess you'd probably have to shorten those spacers by 5 mm or so also.

The local Ace and True Value dealers here have better bolts selection than Home Depot. Then there's Fastenal, etc.

Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

The need for the 35 mm long bolts and their spacers surprises me. All the racks I've ever mounted had the legs flush against the dropout eyelets and used quite short M5 bolts to mount. In fact, I've even had to shorten the driveside bolt so it's threaded end didn't interfer with the chain and/or smallest cog. Do a try-fit before you buy anything else.

It's for disc brake caliper clearance, Hillrider.

Find a good hardware store.

Looks like the rack is spaced much wider than the bike dropouts ( to clear the disk brake caliper? )

Have you asked the manufacturer? They are usually pretty generous about replacing lost or missing components. A quick search indicates that they were made by Axiom. Here is a link to their "Solve A Problem" page: https://www.axiomgear.com/solve-a-problem/ They may provide the original hardware cheap or free.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

One of this rack's legs is spread to clear a disc brake. Then it uses a long screw and tubular spacer to reach the fender eye. (see picture). He should be able to get one with a phone call to the maker, ot to Planet Bike which makes a rack with similar hardware.

Agreed that HD select on metric items is pretty hit/miss. Can also normally find odd sizes on Amazon if he lives way away from a good hw store

Aha! So far all the racks I've installed have been on road bikes or an old (1993) MTB. Never had to deal with disc brakes. Thanks for the update.
