I have a 1981 Puch Austrio-Daimler. An idea on what kind of bottom bracket it might be? I need to gigure it out to be able to order the right replacement. Tks.

Almost certainly square-taper of some sort. The cups are probably marked with the threading type, and the spindle should have markings indicative of length and other salient characteristics.

Clean off the sides of the cups. There should marked with their thread: 1.37 x 24 is English, 36 x 24 is Italian, 35 x 1 is French or (rarely) Swiss. I'm going to bet it's English.

Do you have just the frame, or a complete bike? If you have only the frame, measure the width of the bottom bracket shell. If it is 68mm, it is most likely English threading. Look at the threading direction of the fixed cup side. If it is left hand threaded, it is also likely English. Could be Swiss, but I doubt it.
If you have a complete bike, just remove the crank; the threading type may be engraved on the fixed cup.

Austro-Daimler is an Austrian brand; it's likely English thread but we can't rule out French or even Swiss for that matter. Are there any markings on the cups? If you're lucky, the threading will be explicitly labeled there, e.g. "1.37 x 24" or "35 x 1." Otherwise, more arcane markings may indicate threading, e.g. inscribed rings or lack thereof, hexagon or octagon fixed cup shape, knurling patterns on the lockring, etc.
