ONe should be able to turn several concentric rims from the same billet-very little waste. But how would the lathe drill the holes?

The joint is. Directly opposite the valve stem which helps offset the weight of the joint.

Move the piece to a boring machine.

gradually filtered thru the crackhead smoke and also a very nice cyclist engineer I know explained about pinned rims vs welded. so I'll be getting some new tires.

Just be aware those Weinmann concave rims lack a real hook inside edge to make the tire bead really secure..








For the US Navy, My Father machined the lock ring faces and seals for Polaris Submarine missile tubes Launch tube covers ..


There in that big a thing .. FYI the work turns horizontally ..

It appears they do have some hook. The 27 steel rims being replaced have none at all. So I'll be looking for some 622x35 tougher tires. Seems like the max width for 15mm rims recommended on this forum. I have to ride dirt paths and broken up parking lots just to get out of my neighborhood to the store.
