Mtb front shifting
I have a deor front derialler is the cage to be parallel to the chain. It dumps the chain from big gear to little and skips the middle gear on the down shift. I am old school friction shift help me

I missed the question mark...
The ft der cage is usually aligned WRT the chain rings, not the chain as the chain line angles change with which rear cog is in play.
Won't the friction lever control the der's movement to allow a middle position?
Ft der position is a combination of cage height off the large ring, twist on the frame (or cage/ring near parallel), range limit screws and cable pull control. Andy.
Perhaps a few clear photos would help us see your set up. Andy.

If it skips the middle ring when downshifting from the big ring, the problem is likely in the shifter. There is a ratchet with spring loaded pawls in the shifter and those pawls can get gummed up. Liberally hosing out the shifter body with WD40 or other thin solvent/lube can sometimes free up the pawls and restore proper operation. Mtb shifters are usually fairly well sealed but access to spray in the WD40 can be had by taking off the cover on the cable replacement port.

Looigi- You are likely right. But when i read the OP it was so lacking grammatical indicators and focus that i took the last "sentence" as meaning that the bike was friction shifted. But re reading I see that the OP was likely talking about himself and not the bike. I'm glad no one's safety was dependent on the OP's writing skills, or my ability to understand it. Andy.
