This Panasonic beats that Bianchi by a country mile.

You have a lot of really nice Panasonics on your CL, I guess there must have been a big shop that sold them back in the day.
Thank you, I was instantly caught up with the brand hype.

And between the DX5000 and DX4000? $500 vs. $300?

If I end up getting the DX4000 for less than $250 I might pony up a few bucks and go check that Lotus posted above too for my fiancee. She loved it.

The DX-5000 has been up since September, I bet he takes $350 (but offer him $300).

Luis: the Panasonic 5000 is sweet but overpriced, IMHO, at $500.

Sweet, just contacted the guy. the bike is still for sale. Waiting for him to come back at me with sizing and description but lets say that if I can take the DX400 for 225< or the DX5000 for 350< I'll take the first one to accept the deal.

I am familiar with 105 componentry, however, not so with 600. Is 600 the 1980's equivalent of Dura Ace?

No its the predecessor of ultregra so it's nice gear. Tange No. 1 is lightweight stuff for chrome-moly. This would be one heck of an expensive bike if new. Buena suerte.

Sweet! Hopefully he'll accept the deal. Edit: Just saw that the DX4000 is also a Tange 1 Cro Molly so frames should be the same. The price difference would be the gearing then.

Alright, I bought the DX4000! Pristine condition. Only a scratch in the top tube. Paid 225 for it + went to the LBS and got a pair of 105 SPD SL pedals. They arent vintage but will work while I look for something cool.

The bike is proper quick! Took about 10 minutes to get used to the downtube shifters. There are two things that concern me a little.

* the stem seems to be loose. I tried tightening it and it got to a point when I was afraid I might strip something. I thought it was reasonably tight but if I hold the tire with my knees and put some pressure on the handlebars it will move

* The front brake when applied at speed makes a noise as it having little bumps on the rim. I can also feel it a bit on the lever.

I think I will take it to the LBS to get it checked. I LOVE THE BIKE . It is really fast. It feels even nicer than my high performance roubaix and more confidence inspiring in turns. I have a feeling it will get it's good amount of miles

Should I take it to the Group Ride tomorrow or use the roubaix for safety measures?

Great enjoy! Sounds like the fiance is getting a Lotus too!

By chance the fork is loose, then it is not the stem bolt that needs tightening. The headset nuts need to be adjusted. Back off the top one and tighten the lower one first to take out any slop.

Going to see the lotus today can you please more or less tell me what i need to look for? Anything i should know when looking at it? Decent price to offer? I dont like to buy things on a hurry but i'd like some guidance to go look at it.

i am "touring" now with the fiancee on the panasonic. Loving it. My roubaix has to be ultra jealous!
