Little help, please. Cannondale bag

I have this nice but faded C-dale bag. Would like to dye, paint, or shoe polish it to renew the faded material. Tag is no help as to fabric as it only says made in the USA.

I really like the bag as it slides on/off very easily so we can take it with us when we dismount. It's a good bag for carrying nourishment goodies and with a liner we found, we put a few ice cubes in with lunch and beverages and take it right to the picnic table or lunch spot. We can also bring back any empty containers/trash we take to the MUP.

What say you?

Pics would help. The vintage Cannondale bags that I have seen were made of waterproofed nylon.

Bikes: Bridgestone 300 ; Bridgestone XO3; Motobecane Grand Jubilee; Surly karate monkey; Lemond ventoux "team z" colors; Diamondback Master TG pink with black splatter paint

Wear it proudly. I like a faded bag that is well used, but that's just me.

Years ago I used a special spray paint on a vinyl boat sun pad, with outstanding results. I can't recall the brand name, but some investigation should reveal options.

Car guys use it on interiors, regardless of what the material is. I was skeptical, but it really was impressive. The sun pad was subsequently stepped on, laid on, and often soaked with water...but the color never faded, blemished or ran.

What say you?
Which bag are you talking about?

Some of them are really easy to find. Some are really cheap. If you've got the kind with the separate metal bracket that goes around the stem/bars, people will sell the bags for next to nothing if the bar is missing or bent.

For some reason, forgot to include

Here ya go

As per one of the suggestions above, I have used vinyl spray before and it did the job, however that was on vinyl and I have no ideal what fabric this is made of.

That's the late 80s/early 90s version. It's cordura fabric. That also has that quick release system? Those should be findable- if they get separated from the mount they're about useless- so people unload them.

I have a few of the older style bags- they're super handy. As a C&V point... You can identify the old Cannondale bags from a great distance. When I see a bike coming with a Cannondale handlebar bag, I pay closer attention to the bike.

You are right on with the date. Came off a 1993 H600 that ended up being too small for me but I am keeping the bag. By the way, I will be taking the bike to sell at Trexlertown on Saturday. Very nice condition and I believe totally original except for pedals. PM me if you have any interest.

As to the bag, it's the first one I have come across. I am going to be looking for the products mentioned above and will probably experiment on the underside.

Bikes: '92 22" Cannondale M2000, '92 Cannondale R1000 Tandem, another modern Canndondale tandem, Two Holy Grail '86 Cannondale ST800s 27" (68.5cm) Touring bike w/Superbe Pro components and Phil Wood hubs. A bunch of other 27" ST frames & bikes.

Cannondale touring kit is the best. I love their stuff.

They were a backpacking, tent, pannier and bike touring bag company since about '73. They didn't change the cycling paradigm, forevermore, with their ST series aluminum bikes until '83. The real kicker with Cannondale is finding vintage clothing. Vintage Cannondale clothing was the North Face and Patagonia of the east coast skiing season and hiking/backpacking. Nothing is more hip or scarce than vintage C'dale clothing.
