Paleo-MTB in Norway

Someone over on MTBR, grousing about equestrians being "grandfathered" into wilderness areas, posted this photo. (If they all can agree on the provenance I'll post back about it.) Check these bikes out! Fixies with very low gears, hub brakes, slack angles, highway pegs, lots of luggage. The bike in the middle has a cable frame and a curved seat tube.

Like the pegs on the forks....for fast downhills with feet off the pedals I am assuming

I don't see any "hub brakes" in the photo. The coaster brake had not yet been invented.

Spoon brakes, do you think then? I was going by the resemblance of the brake levers to the ones for rod brakes, figuring they went to a drum.
