I do have garbage pick up on Mondays but the crapmaster would be all over me if I did that, :crash:

It's going to Glennfordx4. I just found out from a higher authority (namely wife and daughter) that I will not have access to a car on Monday. Looks like I'll have to haul that pile of crap to the post office on a bike,

It's been done. Just make sure you counterweight the bike, it could flip over on you with all that crap.

Added. What could possibly go wrong?

Another reason to call this the Box O' Crap: week after shipping the box, finishing touches on a new build... "Crap! Why didn't I grab that one thing out of the box?!" :thumb:

Put the project on hold. Wait a few months, the BOC will be back. That one thing will still be there, right?

mountaindave 06-20-16 05:05 AM

Ha ha! About 12 hours left to finish the build! Something else will do. LBS is o my list.

Thanks, I didn't think you'd abscond with it. Why the "RIP" note from long john then? The issue in this case wasn't that it was sent into a black hole, but that bikemig had no place to send it. Not an RIP situation IMO.

I was thinking about taking off with the box of crap; dang that thing is heavy on a bike. Good thing I listened to @gugie and added a counterweight to the front.

Box is off. Here is my treasure trove of crap:

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=528363

I've been needing a tool for a brooks saddle for a while, the shifters and FD will do nicely for 2 different builds I'm working on, and I couldn't resist the guaranteed built with box o'crap parts stickers that @noglider added to the box. Those are the coolest things ever; even better than a chiquita banana sticker as a framer sticker, :).

Good thing I let that pass. :D

I have a Velo-Orange tool, which I believe works well (enough) on my Brooks and Ideale saddles. I've yet to find any wrench which will get at the adjuster nut on my Record saddle. Might have to grind something down.

Thx, :thumb:. Those tools come in mighty handy and I think it's some weird British size that doesn't fit any American standard wrenches.

Hey everybody,
The BOC landed yesterday afternoon & the box was blown out big time, they delivered it in a mail tub. We had some really strong storms move thru here Tuesday causing tons of damage to the area and we just got our power back yesterday afternoon but a lot of our county is still without. We had more damage then when Sandy came thru here toppling trees & houses. I hurt both my hands when my 6' high, 12' wide vinyl gates blew past there stops and I had to go out in the height of it all and wrangle both of them closed & tie them together which in 80mph wind was very hard to do and now I have trigger finger on my left ring finger and feels like my right wrist is sprained. I spent all day yesterday on my roof removing my Sat Dish which only had one of the 4 lag bolts left in it & it was dangling just above our main power connection on the roof peek and patching the holes left in my roof because of this, which really made my hands worse ( DirecTV told me no one can get here till July 3rd)

It now is so bad I am having a hard time drinking my coffee lol, anyway give me a extra day or two and I will have this on it's way to awfulwaffle ( need his address also ). My neighbors all got hit worse then us with one having a big pine tree fall on their house taking power lines with it and right next door they lost 6' of their roofing. Strong T storms like the ones that came thru here are new to us, never had time to prepare and we were really caught off guard.

Wow, Glenn. Hope you (and your community) heal quickly. Whatever else it is, timely delivery in the face if significant obstacles would probably be categorized as a first world problem.

Glennfordx4 06-23-16 08:11 AM

Thanks for the well wishes a lot of people need it, I can't get over the amount damage these storms caused and the fact that we had no clue it was bearing down on us until it was to late to do anything about it. I was sitting in the house working on a fan with the AC on and my blackout curtains all closed when it hit I was talking to my best friend who was having a new 6' high vinyl fence installed when the storm hit and we both ended the call when I saw my first gate blow open & he had a huge tree come down on the new fence they were installing. I am going to go check his place out today as he had a lot of his neighbors trees coming down causing a lot of property damage to him.

Maybe we should make internal corner braces and equatorial taping standard BoC accessories no matter how good the box looks? I'm sure postal workers are occasionally surprised by the weight, and maybe drop it if they don't have a good grip. "HEAVY" stickers would probably be a reasonable option as well.

Kinda scary they are so commonplace nowadays. Takes a fairly high death toll, or at least some really impressive video coverage, for them to make the national news anymore. :(

Glennfordx4 06-27-16 06:07 PM

Hey guys/gals,
I PMed awfulwaffle when I posted above which I think was last Thurs and still haven't got a reply, I have the box all reinforced and just about ready to tape it up and get it out of here but need to know who I am sending it to, Please Crapmaster tell me what to do lol.

Glenn

Falcon3 06-27-16 06:15 PM

I've been watching with anticipation turning to dread and panic as we've narrowly dodged losses of the Box lately. I'm only 2 down the list, friends, let's not lose it now!
