Help with 1994 Carbon Ergo's Full Disassembly

As far as I know I have the 1994 record carbon ergo shifters EC-22RE CG. I have had no troubles doing maintenance on the g spring side of both shifters, which for the record it's counter clockwise loosen on the lefthand shifter and clockwise loosen on the righthand shifter. I have been having troubles with the bolt on the leaver side behind the brake. Does anyone have experience with what thread it is ? Also what is the best method to get the covers off the shifters without damaging them ? Here is a picture
