This is a Craigslist bike with a variety of decals. But, what the heck is the make/model? There is a Shimano decal on the down tube. Did Shimano make frames? There is a Scott decal. But, I couldn't find a model named "Profile". Does the partial head badge tell us anything? Or is it just another decal. It looks like it could have higher end Ultegra.
Any ideas?

"Profile" is a handlebar company. That frame is from the '70s with the lack of braze-ons.

But it has under-BB cable routing, that didn’t show up until the 80’s, I thought. OTOH, it uses nutted brake calipers.

Please post some sharper pictures, especially closeups of the head tube, lugs and fork crown and the seat tube cluster.

Use this drawing as a guide for areas that help in identifying a bike.

Otherwise you will be flooded with well intended guesses.

The lugs look like Nervex Pros but only a closeup will tell for sure.

The Italian colors, red, white and green stripes on the down tube look like tape one handle bar tape supplier provided to finishing of the wrap.

I'd place this circa 1974-1978 and higher end, based on the combination of long forged dropouts without eyelets, cable routing under the BB shell, top tube cable clips, exposed brake nuts, brazed-on bottle bosses and brazed-on lever bosses. Appears to have been designed for a 700C/tubular wheelset. However, it does appear to be a repaint, so it may have been modified. Still, the low rake fork and geometry suggests a 1970s racing frame.

It looks like it says 531 on the fabricated seat tube decal, though whether that reflects the actual tubeset is anybody's guess.

The partial view of the head badge could indicate a Specialized. This is a Craigslist post; inexperienced seller and the seller does not "speak bike". so, I am trying to get more info and photos.

If the price is good, I would go check it out and buy it based on it having quality components. I wouldn't pay more than what you feel the components are worth, maybe a bit more if you have a good feeling about the frame. Once you have possession, you can delve more deeply into the frame ID. Then, if the frame is a dud, you at least got a good set of components. However, it appears to be a decent frame, just repainted.

Has the world championship rings on the seattube and Italians flag rings on the downtube, but I wouldn't put any stock in either. Looks like PO went a bit "sticker-mad" after the repaint.

Looks pretty nice regardless. Would take a look if priced attractively and was my size.

That's not a reliable indicator. My 1963 Jack Taylor Sports has under-BB cable routing (a cable eye) for the rear derailleur cable. At that time and at least as early as 1960, because it's shown that way in the 1960 version of the catalog, the Sports model was available as a single speed or 5 speed derailleur, so no provision for front derailleur cable routing.

Looks 70s with newer parts. If you see it in person double check that the fork isn't tweaked.
