Well after messing around with the suggestions on here most of today, I could not come up with a decent fix to any of the three stronglight cranks. I had a newer non period correct Miche on the shelf and I put that on as it at least looks the part though it is a 90's crank. Bolted on and straight as an arrow, no problems there, but has a 42 small ring. The campy crank original to the bike has a 53/45 which I never noticed riding it over the years and always assumed it was a 42 other than it is a total bit** to ride up hills or mountains, lol. So I could ultimate just try and find a straight 41T, 42t 144 bcd chainring to run the original crank. I could still swap the nuovo record cages for soma cages and run a bigger freewheel, but I think I can manage the 42 with a 14-25, but would prefer to go with a 28t in back and give my old knees a break.
