Stunning!

I hadn't noticed the modified Super Record RD in previous posts. IIRC that is the first long cage SR I've ever seen. The arm does look the same as the Rally. The freewheel looks to be a Suntour New Winner or other Winner variant. Is the rear spacing 126mm (which is how my '83 Paramount is built)?

Bikes: Too many to list here check my signature.

That is fabulous. The lining on the lugs really makes them pop. Long cage SR?

Yes, the question is, Is that a std derailleur in their line up? or was it built. I know I have two cages like that to convert regular SR or NR derailleurs to long cage..Just not sure if you could buy them that way. I haven't looked into it.

Bikes: '00 Koga Miyata Full Pro Oval Road bike.

Beautiful oldschool race bike. And I dig the bar-end shifters - a nod to racers of days gone by?

Oh my! Have to say if I had to pick, this is one of my faves among your collection. It also appears darker than depicted in the vid. Handsome.

Would this be one of the last Chicago built Paramount?

It's built for touring. Notice the triple crank, long cage RD, bar end shifters, and rack mounts.

That bike is so ridiculously cool.
Love it.

I learned that this bicycle was built in Waterford. I was working at a Schwinn Dealer at the time. I believe that many people thought the Paramount was either gone or they lost interest so not many were sold. Many were buying Trek and others. Not many built. Someone else said they were totally built custom from 81 to 84 however I may stand corrected by those that know more than I do.

Needless to say. EXTREMELY rare. Ive been collecting for some time now and havent seen any of this vintage and decals..

Took it around the block today...Shifted like crap.. LOL... the weird spread in the front with the 57 sucks. Plus the reason there is only a 24 low in the back is because of chain wrap concerns... Thinking about putting at 52 in front.. Putting a 13-28 in back... I had a feeling.

I run a 2nd Gen Rally on my '71 Paramount and agree, "the shifting is crap." I tolerate mine. My triple is 50-42-31 (unknown vintage 144BCD triplizer on a NR crank) and 13-32 Suntour 5 speed. I can't imagine ever running a 57T!
