The one that got away.
30 years ago I purchased my first new road bike...a pearl white Miele with Campagnolo bits...it lasted for about 6 months before it was stolen. I've had many bikes since, but I've always kept looking for another...never seemed to find just the right one. Miele flooded the Toronto market with reasonably priced italianesque road bikes but many, as most brands do, were low to middle market bikes.
Yesterday I picked up what I've been looking for. Pearl white, Columbus sl with pantographing. I've been collecting bits for a special build for a while...this bike got the kitchen sink. I took it out for a 20k spin after building her up...fun, solid and smooth. Some bits will get changed out, like the cranks and criterium bars but otherwise I'm pretty pleased. Centaur mechanicals, record brakes, wound up carbon forks, spinergy front and khamsin rear shod with gravel king 23s.

Probably its last iteration for now. Changed crankset to centaur, stem to deda and handlebars to deda piega polished. Old school 85-87 miele Columbus sl built w campy centaur 10 speed, campy pro fit pedals and some carbon bits.

Very nice bike, love the white. Great story, and good to hear that you really can go back.
