A Pair of Paramounts?

I'm not certain this is a find or a fraud. At $1000 each starting bid, plus $150 for shipping, zero sales or feedback on seller, and with a lousy single photo, it's a tough call.

Vista Aero

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

I've dug around and found this to be a Vista Aero.... could be a couple of different levels, Team, Course and ????.
It's my size, the price looks good and I haven't had a project for a long long time.

Looks like it would be fun, looking for the Dura Ace or 600 AX stuff. From what I've found out being a SunTour fan and not knowing much about older Shimano stuff. The rear changer, seatpost and shifters would have to be AX DA or 600.

Any comments pro or con would be welcomed.

Best Regards

I found this fellow from the UK with just about everything I need. He also has another Tange Aero frameset for sale with brakes, seat post and chainset.

I home out of work waiting for hip replacement surgery. Can't do much of anything right now. I wanted something to keep me occupied during recovery. This looks good to me, not a big investment and I'm thinking about asking the UK fellow about a combined purchase.

Comments.....Help?

Jim

I like the Tsunado (sic) frame for 175Lbs ($310), has chainset, brakes etc. just need
derailleurs etc.
The Vista frameset is also nice, but you need a full gruppo for that one, if it were my
choice at this level I'd go with DuraAce Ax (will I get booted from Campy only for saying that?).
The Vista just looks more pleasing to the eye (atmo).
Shipping is going to be a consideration for the UK bike, and I can tell you it won't be
20 pounds as stated. Probably in the neighborhood of $60.00

I with you. I don't like the headtube/toptube/downtube insection on the Tsunado. It just doesn't look right.
The Vista being lugged with through the TT cable routing looks much cleaner, nicer.
Right on the shipping probably $60 or more. But with the parts I could probably live with it.

He also has a NOS DA group for sale and lots of other AX stuff both DA and 600.
Yeah if I were going to do it definately Dura Ace. I was always a Suntour hold out, so I won't tell anybody.
There was a time not too long ago when I would have bought them both and some of his parts. But the Big Boss put a stop to that, she wanted the room I had taken over back.

Thanks
Jim

Shhhh don't tell anybody, I know a forum member (and denizen of this crazy group) who
hopes to score this puppy for $25.00 (well that's all of us really).
Seriously nice frame, probably nicest Zunow I've seen (not that I've seen that many).

That auction probably has the chaincase part I need, but alas, the shipping for all of that stuff wouldn't be worth it probably :(

I don't think it is a fraud, just very wishful thinking. But he has a 68 coupe de ville convertible for sale for only $13K, and he has a bid!

Why buy a Schwinn tandem when you can get a LeJeune tandem. But good luck getting it here.

Distressed Falcon frameset

I was seriously considering that Falcon. We'll wait and see whether the old Moto I'm looking at tomorrow falls through.

I would pass on it personally, but that's just me.

Free Spirit is a very low-end brand, mostly; think old Sears bikes. The Nishiki that's listed today (by the same seller?) for $125 would be a MUCH better buy.

After browsing a few of the other bikes in the Los Angeles area, I saw this cool bike:

If I lived closer I'd buy that simply because it's so cheap. :D

luker 04-25-06 08:38 PM

do you think that she injured her ankle while walking her dog and that is what killed it?

It looks to me like people who walk their dog from a bicycle are just inches away from this scenario, all of the time.
