My guess is that it is a 1987 or 1988. I have a 600 RD with SIS printed on it, and it is from 1987 as I recall. Neither of my other 600's has SIS printed on it, and one is a 1986, the other is a 198 7 speed.

If the bike is in good condition, you should be happy with it.

I actually looked at that one, and it was too expensive for me with shipping... and not quite what I am looking for... and I have no room for it... and I have a very similar bike from a different manufacturer... Still it would be tempting to me at 1/2 that price... worth what you paid if you don't have all of the things that kept me from bidding. :D

What do you guys think of this, I did a quick google and couldn't really find any info on the brand. It would be a good size for my 11 year old assuming I can buy 24" sew ups.

Pretty sure it's athena, the RD is for sure and if anything the RD is what is the higher end part if any of the components are mixed.

Seller also has the bike listed on ebay currently, no images other than some illustrations he got off the web probably as I have seen them before on the illustrators web site. Starting bid $4500. there with a reserve. Bike is quite possibly real, these bikes do go for a fair amount, last one if I remember correctly fetched about half the 15K asking price.

According to the listing, it's a Miyata road bike, new in the original shipping box, that he found in the attic of a closed bike shop. I know, sounds fishy ... but that's what the pictures really show. I've never heard of the model (MT-10-3) but the box says made in Japan (not Taiwan). I have a question out to him to find out which level of Shimano it's equipped with. Might be a deal.

He added this to the description:

"ok guys just to mention the model is called a "sport ten" and the material it is made out of is magna light manganese steel tubes."

Not a high end model, but new old stock is real cool....

I bought this for my daughter the other day, looking at the pic I thought the chainstay wasn't bent, just had the wheel in crooked, went over and picked it up and sure enough the wheel was just cocked LOL. Not a huge deal, but he gave it to me for an even 100 and it cleaned up nice.
