No, I just think the black would look nice with the black components (brakes and crank) and I would switch out the seat-post for a black one. Whatever you decide on, please post some photos, I've been looking for this exact Bianchi for some time now and I've only ever seen that colour one other time----a vagrant had it last summer and I haven't seen him around lately or I would have bought it from him.

There are a couple of couriers here in Toronto who ride similar Bianchis, maybe even Trofeos, that are a really nice purple colour, but I think that the pink is really nice. Maybe some of the experts here can tell me better, but I think that your Bianchi is painted Electric Rose. Very nice.

I have seen the rose bianchis on ebay from time to time. There is a shop there in Toronto, which I believe is called cycles canada or something but I am not sure if it is still open or what. I have never been but only talked to the guy. I think he may have a red or rose coloured Bianchi... and a great many other bikes stashed away I hear. Anyway....

on the topic of black components here are some NOS black hi-flange dura ace hubs for $100. looks pretty sweet to me! ebay item #: 140013157230

Hrm, it wasn't High Park Cycle, was it? That guy's stock room is full of old Italian track and road stuff but he is a pain in the butt to deal with as he is a bit of a curmudgeon. You don't happen to recall the location of the store or when you saw it; was it recently? Thanks.

Potential very good deal on an eBay BIN of $85: http://cgi.ebay.com/Raleigh-Road-Bik...QQcmdZViewItem

This seller had the bike listed previously, and I recall that the Q/A indicated that it was a Super Course though a cottered-steel crank SC didn't come in that color, I believe.

Neal,

I think it did in some years, but I don't believe a Super Course ever came with tubular rims standard. The rest of the components make sense though. Take a look at the catalogs to see if anything else meets the specs on this one. Whatever it is, I think it's worth the BIN price.

Ashen 08-02-06 01:00 PM

It's a 1973 Supercourse TT (which did come with tubulars)

Good deal for a tall person.

Oh, no someone bought it. Oh ya that was me. We will see what kind of shape it is in when I get it. I figured two sets of wheels, nice quality 531 frame, and a Brooks why not.

That's definitely a very good deal. I look forward to the pics once you have it in hand.

Hey guys...new to this scene. Does this look like a good buy? I'm solely looking for a beginner road bike to get my feet under me...once I'm in better shape and riding for distance, I'll upgrade probably to either a nice steel bike or a CAAD8 Cannondale. ebay item 170013432305

Well Sam,

It doesn't scream "vintage" to me, and I've heard some say the Cannondale aluminum frames from that era have a harsh ride, but for the price it's at now, it's a good deal.

This one's odd - looks like the drivetrain is on the wrong side......

1960's Raphael Geminiani - $150

Mhendricks 08-04-06 11:37 AM

Nice Mixte and thanks for the link. Unfortunately when people want that much you can't resell it. I passed on a Raleigh mixte the other day at a goodwill. The bike was in great shape but they wanted $40 for it. I offered $30 but they wouldn't take it. :(

Here's the strangest looking bike I've seen in a while. I can't imagine that this weird lever system is that efficient, but is certainly unique. The brand name is Alenax apparently. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ALENAX-Road-Touri...QQcmdZViewItem

I snagged a couple of the pics, very goofy! I guess the "gearing" has infinite adjustment by moving the pivot points of the lever thingies, like a continuously variable transmission sort of or something LOL.

I emailed seller. She said she found it on a trash heap. Is this a left coast thing? Throwing out high end bicycles? I don't see this in St Louis.
