Yeah, but my brain wasn't in gear...

Raleigh Twenty on ebay.

It looks like it may not sell because the seller placed it in the wrong category.

cyclotoine 02-06-06 01:02 PM

don't know about this one but it's on huge mish-mash of parts... http://vancouver.craigslist.org/bik/131305075.html

Is it considered "bad form" to post a link to ebay sales that I have going on right now?

broomhandle 02-06-06 04:24 PM

somebody has to grab these in (Columbus, IN):

ebay item: 7217262322

Huge lot, vintage bicycles, Schwinn and many others

There are 29 vintage bicycles.

This is the best description I can give. These bikes are 30 years and older on most. There are 8 bikes I cannot describe. There is 1 Columbia Bicycle , 4 Western Flyers, 1 Shelby Flyin Cloud, 3 old Schwinn's, 1 Malibu Hopper, 1 Hianatha Gambler, 1 B.F. Goodrich by Schwinn, 1 Roadmaster, 2 Sears and Roebuck, 1 Shelby Flyer, 1 Murray, 1 Murray Nassau, 1 Arnold Schwinn and Co. Pullman, 1 Ben Hur and 1 Huffy Mainliner.

These are the bikes I have collected over the years and was going to restore them but I cannot find the time to get to them so I figured someone else deserves this great collection to work with.

My brother is selling his sweet Atala to help finance the purchase of his dream Orbea. I've never ridden it but it looks great in person.

Mods if it's against the posting guidelines to post this here delete and let me know, thanks.

What looks to be an '83 Trek 970:

$99?!? Sounds too good to be true.

And it is. The guy is running an auction, asking people who respond to the ad to submit their top offer. It may or may not wind up being a deal for somebody - but the guy's running it in a way that doesn't feel up-and-up to me.

Blue Order 02-07-06 07:53 PM

I just got in a Craigslist "fight" last night with some guy who was advertising his fixed gear conversions for $1, when the actual price was $200. Most people "got it" that his ad was misleading, a few didn't...

Other than that, original and rust free. I cleaned a few spots and underneath the grime this thing shines. Even the tire pump is peugeot. Does need servicing though. I can feel the old, stiff grease in the bearings.

This was a backup. This is 1 of 3 that made it to the US prior to the 80 release. Notice the 1980 has water bottle mounts, this one doesn't. He even has the original sales info dated 1978. Leastwise that's the story. Talked to him again today and it sounds like it's sold, but i'm still gonna have a look at it for fun on Thursday, in case he has a "no show". ;)

Nice! It sounds like a very sweet find. I wish my mom had one in her attic!

How much is he asking for the Competition?

A HUGE Schwinn Varsity on Craigslist San Diego. A mere $25? Why, that is only about 50 cents a pound!

Not many details, but a 10 yr old Bianchi with 105 and a 20 yr old Trek

http://allentown.craigslist.org/bik/127157410.html

Would a 10 yr old Bianchi with 105 be worth $200 if in good shape (and the right size)?
