Oh man, this guy. Don't get me started. Bought it for $40 from a local friend yesterday or today maybe. Told a sob story of needing a bike to get to work, etc. Guess what pops up today, the same bike for $100 more? I asked him via email, whether he just bought this for $40. He sidestepped and said the bike is worth this much, and that he could get his asking price on ebay easily.,,,,BD

Yes, steel rims and chainrings, not to mention stem shifters and low end Sachs components. I have the womens version of this exact bike in pink.

Should we all call him and ask if he has a pink version that we would pay $400 for? Make certain you tell him that you have such an item...

hehehehe

I'm sorry, should I edit the post to suit you better? How's this?

Oh man, check out this guy. Don't get me started. He bought it for $40 from a local friend yesterday, or was it today? He told a sob story of needing a bike to get to work, etc. Take a wild guess what popped up today, the same bike for $100 more? I asked him whether he just bought the bike for $40. He sidestepped and said the bike is worth this much, and that he could get his asking price on ebay easily.,,,,BD

Your initials wouldn't happen to be C. A., would they?

If you're still wondering about my nationality, it's Scottish/Irish and American Indian. Not that it makes any difference.
I just have a unique typing style. Sorry for confusing you.

Bikedued 06-17-07 09:32 AM

He bought it for $40, and put his ad up for $140 the same day. That's what is ridiculous
about the whole thing. Even my friend, the original seller, was ticked off. The guy has several
bikes up, and seems to be living in an apt. He also misspells the street he lives near. If that's
not enough for numbskull status, I'm not sure what is.,,,,BD

It's Shepherd, not Shephard?

I've been off BF for a while, so I'm a little rusty on my BF pidgin ;)

It seems there are quite a few "bike flippers" in this town so each must command a smaller market share. They have no choice but to overcharge for their "added value" :)

Bikedued 06-17-07 09:39 AM

They seem to have all found craigslist too. As long as they don't find my thrift store and flea market, I don't mind.:),,,,BD

Anyone know this Centurion?

Bikedued 06-17-07 12:46 PM

Nope, but I do know it's very new and lightest? :) It's the only bit of info this guy seems to have in his
arsenal of stupidity.,,,,BD

The funny part is that Centurion may actually be the Lightest one they made. Don't know what the excuse is for the dozens of other bikes he's sold that he calls Lightest though. Deserves to be in the Numbskull Hall of Fame for determined numbness. :D

alicestrong 06-17-07 01:13 PM

All his bikes are lightest, new and nice..;o)

He might just be language challenged. He does find some nice old bikes...

arkyarky9 06-17-07 08:43 PM

Only $480.00!!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/2007-ALUMINUM-FR...QQcmdZViewItem

Or you could just go to Target and spend $179.99 ($159.99 on sale)..... What a creep!

I wonder for the price if he throws in the key to the "Krytonite" lock:

I just saw that one and thought the best approach would be to make an appointment with the powdercoater so that you could drop it off as quickly as possible once you've purchased the frame. Not a bad deal, otherwise.

You know, I'm not at all skittish around pink bikes--but this one looks as if someone was expecting a baby and decided to cover both bases...I would rather have the infamous pink and purple Centurion Ironman :p .
