What type of brake levers (do you know yet?) would these go on? If you can latch hold of Weinmann or Dia Compe levers, you can get your LBS to order these from Dia Compe (they are the same shape).

I have Weinmann levers I'd like to subtract the safety levers from
I've seen Cane Creek non aero hoods but are there still Dia Compe ones being sold?

Got lots of stuff to trade......

I was able to order some through the LBS a little over a year ago. The price (and I realize that different LBS's prices can vary by 3-4 dollars here) was less than what you've been directed to. Can't hurt to ask. :)

Channel locks with a light touch ought to work just fine.

Bikedued 10-02-07 09:40 PM

I do that all the time, but I wanted to let someone else say it, lol. I haven't found any of them to be really tight, and smaller pairs of vise grips teeth match up pretty well. Sometimes the cassettes seem stuck, but spin it backwards briskly while leaning the wheel toward the drive side. They can be gummy sometimes too, in that case just give it a steady pull while twisting your hand slightly counterclockwise.,,,,BD

Looking for a set of Shimano DT shifters. 7 speed index rear, and friction front. Doesn't have to be perfect, just functional and not covered in rust/corrosion. I am building my Schwinn Tempo frame up as a nicer beater bike for a 150 next April. The only megarange freewheel I have is 7 spd, and here I sit surrounded by 6 spd index shifters, lol. Should be a cool looking ride, using the Cinelli stem and bars, and doing a mild paint touchup. The rest will be pure dependability/functional.

Edit: found a set at Nashbar. I also could have SWORN I counted 5 clicks on the shifter. I think it has a 7speed
already?? It went through all the gears, and there was a click left once it got to the megarange gear. I haven't done the long cage swap yet. I have a couple of Deore setups with triple rings, so I think I'm set for the moment. Thanks to all who responded.

/\ Would you happen to have some sora or older ergopower shifters? I will pull my DT's off for some sort of a trade. No rust, from a exage 400ex groupset. I can provide pictures.

Also... is there any chance of anyone having a Raleigh USA Supercourse technium fork? Grey? I now have a slightly torqued fork thanks to a car-induced collision with a tree.

Hey BD,

If you want to use some of those 6 speed shifters you have surrounding you, I have a new 6 speed megarange freewheel... mounted but never ridden.

Don't really need anything now, but I am willing to pay it forward to a regular like you if you are willing to go 6 speed.

Thanks, anyone have a shop suggestion for this in NC?

Can you see how the top half of the forks are lined up, but near the end they are not? The right side is bent back from the left. It was hard to photograph but i've grabbed several people out of the hall to look and confirm.

Hidden in the "Former C&V stickies" sticky, is a thread recommending shops. Here are a couple posts regarding NC shops:

I reread your post and hadn't noticed "Technium" the first time. I assume, however, they are steel forks. If they are aluminum, they're toast.

I see that, but I just thought that was caused by the angle of the photo. Wish I had a fork for you, but my only spare is bent worse than that. :o

Thanks guys, the fork is steel, maybe it's repairable. I think I may just create a Frankenstein and convert to carbon threadless fork, os bars/stem, and sora brifters. The idea of a steel/aluminum/carbon bike is attracting me.
but no worries to the classics... I've got a 79 super grand prix thats getting fit with campy

divineAndbright 10-05-07 01:02 PM

Wanted: 130BCD chainrings either 53X39, 52X42 or 52X40/39, anything- as long as they arent bio-pace or any oval type, don't mind if they are used either, as long as they arent badly worn!

Mos6502 10-05-07 04:35 PM

Wanted: Mattress saddle/sprung seat, or something appropriate for a prewar lightweight roadster. Also looking for North Roads style handlebars for said roadster (Columbia Sports Tourist prewar)

PM if you have any of these items, thanks.

Would love to find a single bare black 80's? Rigida 700 rim. I have a set, but found out recently there's a dent/hop in the rear one. I don't know if it can be corrected, but it's also worn to the silver, and is pretty homely. Or, if you have one with a Maillard(non helico) hub, I would be interested. Looking for used but not worn to silver if possible. New is good if the price is right?,,,,BD

Don't have any, but are these box or aero pattern?

Bikedued 10-05-07 09:21 PM

Box I guess? Your standard older 700's. They're narrow and have a gently rounded face. They also have eyelets. Almost exactly like an older Trek Matrix style.,,,,BD

Stacey 10-06-07 01:24 PM

Snagged this at a yard sale at a price I couldn't refuse.

It needs a fork. '79(?) Headbadge# 3119, single speed Sting-Ray. Correct color not really important, I'd actually prefer a red one.

Reasonable $$$'s and undying gratitude offered

I've got some Campy ones in good shape. There are some rust stains on the two sides bolts that look like bleed-through from the swaged nuts under the shift levers and a touch of light rust on the clamp nut. A few rust pin spots on the clamp by the nut as well. I'm pretty sure these would clean up nicely. PM me if you're interested.

I've got a pair just like that, model 'SX100'. Unfortunately, they're worn to the silver and pretty homely as well....

SingeDebile 10-06-07 04:41 PM

aprox 68cm custom or very nice lugged steel frame, preferably with eyelets for fenders/racks. Age or country of origin is not really an issue. Thank you!
