In search of a vintage-appropriate bottle cage and downtube bottle cage clips.

My bike has no bottle-cage bolts/bosses, so the 99% of bottle cages that have a mounting plate with bolt holes don't work. I need a cage with no mounting plate, and the clips to secure it to the downtube.

TA made some nice stuff that I would love to have, that I see occasionally on ebay - but rather expensive.

Without it I'll just be sticking my water bottle in a jersey pocket, I guess.

1. 32h dark anodized tubular rim. Mavic or Campagnolo perferred. (FOUND!)

2. nice 27.2 seatpost. Campagnolo perfered, will consider others. (still looking, have a temp post until I find the Campy S.R. I want)

3. Cinelli stem, 110 or 120mm. (in much need of!)

4. 7sp freewheel with 24 or 26 max cog. (needed for my second wheelset on the Serotta)

(have stuff for trade)

HOZAN HOOK SPANNER LOCK RING WRENCH. This is the one that also takes off lockrings on those Japanese headsets. Let me know if you have one hanging around.

I'm sorta-kinda looking for a pair of WOOD 700C rims. I don't care if they've got a braking surface or not (track specific rims are just fine), and I don't mind so much if they're used even, just so long as they don't look like they're really beat up.

I'd prefer just the rims, but if you've got complete wheels and don't want to take them apart I may be willing to take the wheels whole, depending on what the hubs & spokes are.

I don't regularly look at the C&V forum, so you'd be better off PMing me than leaving a reply here.

Thanks!

Having a bad string of luck with ebay parts purchases recently. Picked up this Campagnolo Victory or Triomphe rear derailleur, but the threads on the mounting bolt are damaged. Does anyone have a spare mounting bolt? Top of bolt is flat, not beveled.

I'm most certainly watching that one. Don't see it staying anywhere near that price for long.

WTB: I'm in need of a steel frame/bike for a fixed gear project. Size would have to be between 50-52. For now, I don't have many qualifications except I want it to be on the ligher side, with a geometry leaning more towards the aggressive side. Also, it would be nice if it did not have braze on cable guides. I realize this is a bit broad of a description, but I am trying to keep my options open. Thanks.

ISO: 21-23" quality steel MTB frame and fork. Let me know what you have. I will trade as well.

JunkYardBike 03-14-07 07:00 AM

Not exactly vintage, but it's for a vintage frame!

Looking for standard nutted (vs. recessed allen mounting) dual pivot brake calipers, in very good to excellent condition.

(Actually, these are late 80s to early 90s "vintage")

nlerner 03-14-07 08:55 PM

WTB: Shimano Nexus 7 or 8 internally geared rear hub w/ or without a shifter (but with preferred!).

Can trade.......

WTB: A pair of 700C clincher rims. Must be polished aluminum, box pattern (with a nicely rounded top - no sharp edges), and preferably from the '70s.

36 and 32h drilling.
