Like Kurt, I need polished, aluminum, 700c clincher rims (36 hole). If you have four, give two to Kurt and two to me.:D
Rob |
Okay, since no one has been beating down my door with some 36 hole clincher rims I can only assume that it is because you are unsure of the worthiness of the cause. I will not say that my project is more worthy of receiving the gift of motion than anyone else's. I feel that I might need to entice you with a vision of where your donation would end up. This will be my last appeal... for a while.
PM me even if you might just have a lead on some. Oh yeah, I hoping to find these on the cheap...:D http://www.offcenterdesign.org/images/w28.jpg http://www.offcenterdesign.org/images/w29.jpg |
Hello everybody,
Lurking on these pages for the past year, reading posts and ogling photos of all your beautiful rides, has re-kindled my long lost love of cycling and has struck me with the undeniable need to buy another bike. Thanks, I think. Anyone have a 80s or 90s lugged steel (57-59cm) bike, preferably Italian with brifters, that they're looking to separate from their stable? Don't hate me because I'm considering brifters. I'm currenly riding a late 80s Bianchi Campione d'Italia (commute and fitness) and am looking to pick up something else that's a little nicer in quality. I mainly ride in the city(Chicago) and plan on doing the triathlon at the end of the summer. So, I'm curious about trying out either sti or ergo (never tried them but kind of like the idea of keeping my hands on the bars during the endless start and stop shifting). Doesn't have to have brifters, but I'm definitely open to the idea. Prefer Italian (Cinelli, Basso, Pinarello, Colnago, Masi, etc?) with Campy but definitely open to Shimano. Small English framemakers (I just picked up a Harry Quinn for my fiancee, who's English) as well. While my heart stirs when I see a mint, stock 70s or 80s classic, this bike will have to endure the rigors and abuses of city riding. So, I'm looking to find a happy middle ground. I'm definitely looking for a high quality rider, but not a museum piece. Must be functionally solid but minor cosmetic blemishes would be fine. I've been scouring ebay for the last few weeks, but have been outbid on the few options that fit the bill (why are all the nice ones 56 or 60?). Depending on the quality, I'd be looking to spend $400-700. Maybe a little more for the right bike. 58cm seat tube (ctc) and a standover height of 83-84 would be ideal (my Bianchi is a 57, with 82.5 standover, and I think that I could stand something a hair bigger). I'd consider a 57 or 59. I have a long torso and arms, so a longer top tube would be ideal. I know that this is a bit of a long shot but figured that I'd throw it out there. I figured that one of you might have the ideal old rider that isn't seeing much use these days, and want to part with it. Anybody looking to part with something like this so that you can make space for your next acquisition? :) Help me cure my spring fever! Thanks for letting me vent and understanding this healthy obsession, Bob |

Oh yeah, I hoping to find these on the cheap...:D If I had the rims, eBay could net me over a hundred bucks. So how "worthy" IS your project? You can ask me about the Merlin.... |
Need stem bolt for Cinelli 1A stem.

You can decide for yourselves. All I have left to say is if the Easter Bunny does not get some rims for his bike, NOBODY's getting any jelly beans. |

Nashbar has the Mavic Open Sport in 36h, silver right now for $19.99 each. Pull the decals off and call them an MA-2. :) http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?c...okes%2FNipples

Just get the Open Sports, cmdr. I would if they came in 32 hole...
|
See this?
http://www.jaysmarine.com/Guerciotti_fork.jpg It's a chrome fork with a lugged crown (Cinelli-type sloping crown OK) for 700C wheels. Get me one...or two...with a minimum length steerer tube of 222mm. Italian or English threading. That's all. Please. I've been looking for 4 months already. -Kurt |

I need the gut pieces for the right side (rear) of this Suntour lever setup. I have the lever and the thumbscrew, need everything else for that side. The middle "washer" pieces and "arm" that goes to the base and fits in the slot. Possibly missing a thin washer or two in there somewhere. Thanks!,,,,BD
Going on my new "to me" shiftless Trek...... The levers are Suntour BL CLAMP ON's I realize the picture shows bosses. Sorry in advance for any confusion. Maybe the parts are the same? I'm not sure.... |

So 1,000 apologies for coming off as arogant or condescending! That was NOT my intent. And if I come across anything that might work for you, I'll PM you a heads-up! :) Good luck with your very worthy project! :D |

There is nothing paltry or trite about your project, but to get what you want, it may cost WAY more than you originally anticipate. I just got sniped on a pair of NOS MA2's! They went for almost $90! I have missed a few other pairs that went for over $125. And then there are the hubs!

I got wiped on some NOS arayas. They went for 135. Ouch. F*** period correct, I'm buying some Open Pro's for that price. |
Need one Columbus SL tubing decal for seattube, circa 1978. That's all.

Its always the small, relatively unimportant pieces that are the hardest to find...does anyone have a spare C-Record era pedal dustcap like:
http://www.cadre.org/bike_stuff/Camp...PG.640x480.JPG Condition not terribly important -- the one I have is pretty ugly. |
On the topic of dustcaps, I'm in need of 1 Stronglight crankarm dustcap and 1 TA crankarm dustcap. Thanks!
Neal |
I am also looking for crankarm dustcaps. I need them for a Gipiemme special pista crankset.
Also need, if anyone has: 46t or 47t Gipiemme special pista chainring Old logo Cinelli Pista bars and cloissonné badged track stem. 90 -100 cm stem. Thanks so much! |
dustcap wanters: I assume you must want specific makers, instead of just generic (but nice) chromed steel ones?
|
Indeed.

WTB: One Weinmann Delta Pro brake caliper, as shown.
-Kurt |
PM me if you know of a Columbia Roadster for sale. That's the single speed coaster brake model. Preferably men's model made before the mid 70s.
Thanks. |
It seems I am in need of a Campagnolo S.Record headset upper cup and lock nut. I HAD them SOMEWHERE for the Serotta, but unless I left them with the painter, I can't find them ANYWHERE. Anyone have a good pair? :o
|
WTB:
Simplex Retrofriction downtube shifter clamp or hardware for braze-on type shifters. The clamp/band on my shifters split in two when mounting it :( Take care, -Kurt |
NOS black pebble grain bar tape. Padded early eighties, not 70's schwinn/hunt wilde type. Might be original on my 83 Trek 560. If anyone can say Vetta pebble grain tape is or not please let me know. Thanks!,,,,BD
