Okay, here is the before and after of my wife's bike that I built up.
Took the Schwinn she had and added $200 worth of parts/materials to make this. Fun project.
In the end, I kept the Headset, BB, RD, frame, fork and wheels. Some VO in there, but a lot of cheaper older parts. Had the Schwinn decals custom made by bikenames.com Also, ground off the teeth on the large ring so that it would act as a guard.
She loves it.

As found about a month ago, for $125. A 1985 Centurion Dave Scott.
As of this evening. I may be changing the stem and bars, not entirely happy with the feel of large drops, and the stem feels too long. But for now, it's done.,,,,BD

Rode the bike for a few km tonight as it has been refitted with 700c wheels and tyres and wanted to see how they affected the handling (it's a little quicker) and see how well that hub was running (it's like buttah).
All in all it was very nice but I hate that saddle.
To do:
Swap in Brooks saddle
Install Bluemel fenders
Build Dyna hub into a front wheel and install light
Touch up the paint
Change rusty drive cog
Match up the tyres

I really like what you did with the Colnago... the stock paint detracts from the workmanship on the frame and have seen a few of these up close to tell this.
That is a beautiful classic look.
Got my shop unpacked today and started setting out parts for the '54 raleigh... have some NOS Dia Compe brakes and drilled levers, a nice GB stem to perfect the reach, and a few shiny new handlebars to replace that battered up stem and bars (which are also way too narrow).
I am not attached to the stock brake levers and brakes since they were not original to the Sports and since the bike is going to see regular use it needs to be functional.
And one cannnot install shiny new brakes on such a beat up frame so it will be going off to the powdercoaters with the GF's Peugeot to be done up in dark teal.
It might take all summer to do this but it will be worth it.

I used transparent aluminum pedals, you can only get them from a place called "Plexicorp."

New saddle, tape, cables, housings, brakes... it comes together really nicely.
Thinking that rear brake cable is passing on the wrong side though.

The teasing will end eventually... 
Will tape up those off those bars (temporarily) so I can take her outside on Sunday for a test ride and some pictures in the sun... shellacking bars is a time consuming process and I should probably wait until it warms up a wee bit before I do that.
