Bikes: Lots of French, some British and a couple of Italian

Have to agree, I'm no fan of Specialized but that is lovely, and nice timing with the 40yr anniversary stuff in the press!

Thanks so much for this information. I really appreciate it. Cosmetically the paint is a little rough, but the bike cleaned up much better than I thought and it is back in running order. I haven't ridden it a lot, but have taken it on a few little 8-10 spins in the neighborhood. I am surprised/pleased as to how comfortable and how responsive the bike really is. It is quite fun to ride. Thanks again! Here is an "after" photo. Again - thanks for this information.

^^ I like the red and yellow cabling to match the red headset and yellow paint accents, Vonruden. What tires are you running?

Thanks Dave. The tires are Challenge Grifo's, the front will need to be replaced soon, rear is brand new.

Found this bucket o rust on a craigslist auction for 1000 bikes. Dug up 6 diamonds in the rough that turned into some nice rides like this 30's Hercules. It is a great Sunday cruiser with the kids.

justin10054 I finished this Rossin a couple of months ago. I like the looks, but the paint I used is a little soft. I'll probably have to redo it sometime.
The restoration looks sharp. What paint did you use and what method of application that makes you think that you will need to repaint it?

Nice work on the Hercules, beastonabike! That looked like lawn art to me, but you brought it back!

Thanks I appreciate that
It took a year and a long fight with ceased cotter pins on the cranks but patience prevailed. It is a blast to ride and exactly my size. It is a great conversation piece out on rided.

Cheers,

Dave

Lots of rust, and suffering from almost 40 years years of neglect, this old 1976 Supercycle Excalibur (nee Bridgestone) has blossomed into a sweet comfortable ride.

I couldn't agree more. This bike is one slick, sick machine. I want it in my stable of bikes.

I'm not happy with the fitment of the fenders, but otherwise love how it looks and rides. Hat tip noglider for sharing his time and expertise. Will probably start a new thread if I'm able to reel off some better photos.

Bikes: Too many Bicycles to list

Here are a few pics of a 1993 Bianchi Europa I picked up at a yard sale for $50 a few yrs ago ( I paid too much ). I traded it as found for my 1985 Centurion Elite RS and was to get the Bianchi in riding condition for the guy. He decided that he wanted to get it painted while I had it apart and he paid over $250 for the Powder Coat & decals after they quoted him a $100 ( he should have walked away ). I didn't want to put all the beat up parts back on it after it came back from paint so it sat around as I started to gather parts for it, then the guy tells me to just keep it for my troubles after a friend gave him a Trek 1000SL in his size, this is what I came up with.

90% of the parts I used came off of a Trek 1000SL that I paid $5 for as it had a bad frame, I first built up my Jetter with the parts but just didn't like it so I striped it for the Europa.

Glenn

Before as found,it was a 3x7 set up.

After, now a 2x8 set up with STI's, it is set up for a triple minus the crankset ( I didn't have a Road Triple that was for index shifting )

Nice work on the refinishing and decals. I also like the upgraded components, which match the bike. This is far better than converting an otherwise perfectly good bike into a single-speed. Overall, the integrity and purpose is preserved. I am wondering where you got the decals. Were they custom made?
