Tiny rivets
I'm putting my Peugeot back togeather and I removed the rivets that held the headbadge on.
I can't find any rivets small enough and was wondering what you guys use and where you bought them.
Thanks
Wayne

I don't use a rivet, but rather a "drive nail" with a spiral fluted shaft. Very small sizes can be found at McMaster-Carr (mcmaster.com) , I use the 90081, plus they have pretty much every fastener you'll ever need.

Nick at Lloyds, who does the decals also sells head-badge rivets.

You need to scroll way down the page to find the rivets in very small print!!
Cheap as chips as Brits might say...
Worth checking the other hard to find parts too.

one reason why the "drive nail" works better than a rivet: you don't have to hit them hard enough to deform the back of the shaft, the spiral fluting cuts enough into the hole to hold them (if you have the dimensions matched right) and the nails are steel so the heads are pretty tough. I use a plastic-faced mallet. But for those who really have to have rivets McMaster-Carr has many styles in steel as well as brass and copper, even tiny pop-rivets (but I don't have a pop rivet tool small enough for them).

In my toolbox is a punch that's got a hollow point; but it's not large enough for an aluminum bike rivet -- perhaps there's a larger version of this.
I plan to install a headbadge using silicone sealant, and use silicone to install the rivets too (cut down a bit).

When Ed Litton put the head badge on my Mondia, that's what he used.

For that matter, how did Raleigh/Carlton/Motobecane install headbadge rivets? Did they have a special deadman that fit inside the headtube?
