Not exactly C&V but I picked up a 9-speed Ultegra group (minus the brakes) for 75$CDN. It is used but in good shape and it turned out that the rear derailleur is a Dura Ace model that the
guy bought NOS on eBay 5 months ago! I already have a spare set of Ultegra/Mavic CXP30 wheels so this group will probably find it's way onto my Battaglin. http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/1...1001171321.jpg http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/5...1001171322.jpg |
Nice catch on that Ultegra group.

1973 Raleigh Twenty folding bike
Picked this up from an old Englishman today. Actually in pretty decent shape. Just needs a good cleaning and some attention to the brightwork. I love that it has the original (and working) hand pump. Just need to find a chain guard. I think I did well for $75.

I acquired this Hercules (made by Raleigh) earlier this winter. Everything seems to be original, perhaps even the tires. The hub says 66 on it, so it's a 1966 or 1967 model. I wanted a 3-speed to modernize, but this one is too close to original to mess with. I don't like the twist-grip shifter, but I'll leave it.
This was only $60 on craigslist. This gives me hope that not everyone on craigslist is a shyster. http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...3&d=1265243090 |
That's a neat chainguard.

Nice pick up. What does the back look like?

cb400bill, The back looks just like the front. It is pretty nice. It must be a racer cut, because it is an XXL but it's pretty tight on me. I usually wear an XL..Good quality though..

Nothing too special, but I picked up this Bridgestone MB-6 to which someone has added a Specialized suspension fork. $35 made it mine.

I bought this Rocky Mountain Team Giro road bike today. It hasn't been ridden in years and the parts are in as-new condition but I don't really
know much about it so I created a thread in the appraisal forum...do you think these parts would be suitable on a Ciocc? http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/2482/rocky005nk.jpg http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/3017/rocky006.jpg http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/4769/rocky002u.jpg |
Nothing great...but it's been so long I had to do something. I braved the rain and set out to the thrift stores etc. Long story short, one guy put me on to another so I went by his house. Two bikes for 30 bucks. He's got a nice womens world tourist I may go back for but he wants 40. We'll see...
A Schwinn Suburban and a Raliegh Horizon Sport... http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/5664/dsc00270hx.jpg |

It was actually in with the sports pants and jackets. I also picked up a set of Performance long cycling pants at the same time. I get lucky every once in a while. My son has claimed the jersey already.

Well I went ahead and picked up the world tourist for 40 bucks. It needs tubes and tires and has a scratched up front fender. I must be getting senile. Oh well, it should still turn a dollar this spring. It shifts and brakes like butter...just needs cleaning and tires...maybe a rack will help it out.

A couple more peeks at the pawn-shop Prelude I picked up last week.
