nice Tange tubes... They're 0.9/0.6/0.9 mm butted in the main tubes, straight 0.8mm in the stays.

I'm looking forward to the update on this one! You'd better have your camera with you when you buy, to post pics to C&V of course.

Bianchi Veloce. Full Campy Veloce 9 speed group. Lots of rust but mechanically sounded. It comes with Flite saddle, Thomson ELite seatpost and LOOK pedals. The Ergo shifters are almost spotless with only minor scratches on the left lever. With little tuning, it should be ready to ride. I paid $150.

Here is what you get when you put out flyers asking for an old bike:

So what do you put on the flyers? Are you asking for donations? Free pick-up? etc. etc. etc. Sounds like a great idea, if properly executed. Any advice would be really appreciated!! BTW, love the Peugeot!! Looks awesome!

Picked this up as a frame set on eBay, and built it up from the parts bin (save bottom bracket and headset). A pedestrian but solid, reliable build, which will make some co-ed/city girl very happy:

Home for the holiday and stopped into the LBS for consumables, noticed this out back and asked about it. "We put a lot of junk bikes out back, help yourself."
http://i733.photobucket.com/albums/w...e/IMG_0313.jpg http://i733.photobucket.com/albums/w...e/IMG_0315.jpg I have been wanting to find a Tenax Schwinn but of course... like all of my other finds so far this year, she's too big. The front wheel was nowhere to be found but I grabbed a suitable replacement from the "junk" pile. I'll post an updated pic when she's all tuned and clean. |
i love bike snobs! (I mean, that is, when they work/run a bike shop!)

That Prelude is exactly like the one I stupidly sold. I've been suffering withdrawal ever since! PM already sent!:D,,,,BD
I painted the head tube. It really gave it a nice touch of class IMHO... http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...udecluster.jpg http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...eludeshift.jpg http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...elude-done.jpg |

I tried to give these ones to the police but they didn't want 'em so I kept 'em. I'm not complaining :P I've been looking for a non-suspension-mtb for a while... Just hope this won't be to small... I'm not sure what I'll do with the other, maybe give it away...
The mtb is a Merida Dakar with Altus-gearing (completely ruined by rust though) and that makes me thinking that it's high-end. I found it in the wood where it have been standing for some years (my friend saw it about two and a half year ago but I couldn't find it back then). The gears, brakes and crankset are ruined by rust, the frame filled with water and the handlebars is bent. Hope the frame is usable... The other bike is a Union - flamingo sport. A very good-locking frame with nice patina. Sadly the bike was run over by a car and both fork and wheels are ruined. The rest of the frame seems straight though! :D I'll se what to do with it. Maybe I'll just use the brakes and handlebars. Would be nice with info about the frames if anyone had any :) (no need, could go through Google but it's harder and I won't get as much info) http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/7610/dsc00345ht.jpg http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/5839/dsc00346e.jpg http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/7261/dsc00347j.jpg http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/6904/dsc00348q.jpg EDIT: The brown stuff on the Merida-frame is not rust, it's aligers :) |

It's worth a shot. Only one of the bikes was free. A fourth bike had a trashed frame (seat tube lug broken). It had a Campy crankset, FD, BB, and DT shifters plus 600 headset and RD. I'll recover my costs selling the crankset.
Free kicks butt any day over buying, hehe. I just missed a Gary Fisher(sp?) Piranha at the FM today. He said $120, and I told him I would be back. Less than 10 minutes later and he had completely packed up and gone. Another seller was already unpacking in the spot. I've never seen anyone move that fast at the flea market before. Made me wonder if it was stolen though, either that or he didn't pay for the space and was squatting.,,,,BD |
Okay the last pics of the DB Master TG, I swear! It's all done and ready to ride, although I have been already. I was just ironing out little problems
here and there, and I also recovered a Supercorsa with some white leather. I call it done now, except for the Cartridge BB which I never got around to this weekend. I will pop the cranks off and measure it after work one day this week. I cannot say enough about the ride and handling of this bike. It may seem run of the mill to most here, but it impresses me quite a bit.,,,,BD http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...r/DSCN4187.jpg http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...r/DSCN4185.jpg |
